Bell Engineering makes CARB legal kits. See if he can build you one.

if i remember right, to have anything carb involves alot of test, money, money, money etc. the demand has to be very high, and all the crap.. if you can make a kit carb legal that would be nice..
good luck

Most cops around here don't even know what a turbo is...:) But anyway my t25 still has the carb stamp on it. So....if they ask I will just show them the stamp. Either way there is no emmisions testing done in idaho.

Makes you wonder why HRC or Star aren't trying to make their kits C.A.R.B. aproved.

Yeah, i wonder how many more people would buy them if they were carb approved. But i don't have emmisions testing where i live, so i dont have to worry about that....

pn0ymahal, what kind of work is needed to make something carb legal? I want to check this out now, maybe by the time I finally get a turbo we will have made some carb progress here

I talked briefly with HRC about CARB legality and they basically said no-way, no-how, never gonna happen. They'd have to get each and every component inspected and approved by CARB which would take upwards of a year and several thousand bucks... The CARB exemption cost would never pay for itself, and they'd be locked into the components they had approved, with no window for innovation or improvement.

Star's an even smaller company, so if HRC won't do it, it's got to be even less cost effective for Star.

You'd be much better off trying to get the CARB abolished from California, turbocharging a Saturn EV1, flying a pig, or getting a State Inspection certificate listing all your mods.
