I am sure this has been asked before, but I thought I would ask again and maybe we could put this in the "Things Seen Before" section.

So what do you guys use? NGK? What model number?

i THINK the NGK BKR5E-11 is the plug you want, since it's one range colder than stock. don't quote me on that, but i've seen a lot of posts around saying that it was good.

No NO NO... NGK BKR7E-11 is the right plug. The NGK BKR5E-11 is the non turbo plug that is one range hotter than stock. the 7E-11 is one range colder than stock.

Actually, I think it was the 7E-11's that are one range colder.

You guys are both right, 7E-11 is one range colder. At least we all agree that NGK's are the best brand! :)

Do any of you have problems running the 7E-11's?? Maybe it's just the elevation here, but most people here run the stock heat range because the colder plug fouls quickly because it doesn't heat up enough to fully burn the fuel unless you're running high boost (around 20psi or more).

That's right, most of us use NGK7E's for turbo applications. I've been using the 7e's for almost 8K miles now, and it seems to work very well. To tell you the truth, I didn't notice any difference between the stock NGK6E's and the NGK7E's. I use the 7E's because of the extra safety precaution because I occassionally run 18-20 psi boost.

So we can use the stock heat range for 5-6 psi applications??? I live in FL, if that makes a difference.

Where are you guys finding these at, i'm going to every store in town looking for them, they're just like..well, we sell a ragne hotter but not a range colder.

Bosch +4 spark plugs are platinum, which doesn't work well with turbo applications.

Yea, youll toast bosch plugs, they suck.
Get NGK and only NGK. People get offended when i tell them that.

I use stock NGK's. I tried using the one range colder but like Patrick said I couldn’t get all the gas to burn even on 20psi. I also noticed that they did foil A LOT faster than the stock ones. I really didn't notice any difference on the street w/ them other than the foiling sooner. I used them w/ 110 octane and 22psi at the track and wouldn't get a good burn at all. I swapped in the stockers and the problem was fixed. I gap mine @ .30. But also remember that I live at a high elevation like Patrick. (~6000 feet above sea level)

Advanced Auto has them, though you might have to order them. When I ordered mine it only took like 2 days for them to come in.

Tried Pep Boys, AutoZone, and Advance Auto, they don't carry them. The only place that carries them here is Discount Auto Parts, and they've been out of stock with them for like forever.

Go back to advance automotive. they can order them the moron at the desk is just stupid. Ask for a manager and tell him your friends get them from other advance stores all the time. If they don't believe you have them call the blacksburg, VA store and ask. Corbin gets them there all the time. The person you had just didn't know the computer system. I'll find the part # that they use tonight if corbin does not beat me to it. I am running lower boost than these guy's but the 7e-11's work great for me in VA. They havn't fouled early and they are gray in color so they seem to get a good burn. Mabye you need a hotter spark to ignite that thin air.

I just bought the NGK BKR7E-11 and they work way better den the stock # ones. And they work like a champ. Run smoother and boost feels stronger for some reason.

pn is 1283 for the 7e-11's. They're gapped at .045.

ngk makes the same plug w/ an .038 gap. it's the 7e (no -11). pn for that one is 6097.

PS. these pn's are ngk pn's, but advance uses the same code. Don't know about other stores.

NGK Brand- Model BKR7E is best. It's already gapped right for our application. You can get the BKR7E-11 if you want, its the same plug, but you'll have to close the gap a little.

Road Race Engineering carrys them, I harass Mike regularly for new plugs. :)

Curious.........what cars, do the 7e lineup are for anyways?? Oh yeah, that's some interesting info about the other 7e plug. I didn't know that they even existed, only the 7e-11's. Thanks for the info.

Anybody ever use the denso iridum spark plug. I hear they are the best with magnecore wires.

Iridum plugs are the best bar none. Everyone i know who has switched to them have noticed a few horsepower increase (on 300+ hp cars mind you) it will make a difference, and they last MUCH MUCH longer than Standard plugs.
