I've done my reading. I've even owned the Greddy Profec B. I guess I got a bad one though because it didn't work well from the moment I got it and it finally broke. This happened a long time ago but I finally got my credit from Nopi. I will, of course put that money into another boost controller so my question is out of the Greddy Profec B, HKS EVC IV and the Apexi AVR which do you guys consider is the easiest to use, most funitionabiltiy and best for the buck? I want some opinions here. I want to know what you guys have used and if your completely happy with it. Thanks in advance.

I plan on getting the avc-r & selling my MBC. If you aren't too picky, i'd get the racing version of the TurboXS MBC, it does a pretty damn good job for the price.

I already have my own self made MBC that works just fine but I am kinda lazy. I want the benefits of an electric boost controller. I've limited to the 3 above so I was looking for opinions on those 3 boost controllers before I make my decision.

Hands down....GReddy PRofec B with optional steering wheel mounted remote.

Check out July in Sport Compact Car. They did a test of electronic boost controllers and a MBC. You can have my copy if you want to read it over. The AVC-R did well. So did the Profec-B. Just looking at boost stability (spiking, hunching, fading), I think the Profec did the best. Its also easy to use and relatively affordable. Plus, I have one and like it.

Damn robert I didn't know you were in manassas. Alright boy's we have to meet up and shoot the shit. Does the profec b or avc-r also tell you boost in psi? because I don't like to f around with math conversions and all that. And seriously when are we getting together?

I have the Turbo XS dual stage MBC now and it works great, but I'd rather have a Profec B. You can't beat that steering wheel mounted switch and it has pretty basic functions (less room for error).

Hey Fly1 do you have any boost spike, creep, fade problems with your mbc? I have the hpmbc from turbo excess. I'm not ready to put it on yet but if it's a problem then I'mn getting rid of it.

I like it alot and it holds SOLID boost. Instead of reaching down to switch to higher boost setting, I'd would prefer to make the switch on the steering wheel. Other than that, the mbc works great!

can't you just extend the switch to somewhere else mabye by the shifter or something? Don't know if you've tried this just a thought

RRE manual boost controller here. $40 and it holds rock solid. Too bad my stock exhaust limited me to about 6psi :rolleyes

pound for pound i would take the hks evc ez. The one you are looking at is the IV? I have never had problems with mine and it was the easiest thing to set up on the car. Its really nice to tool around town and just bounce off the wastegate. But one push of a button and you better be gripping the wheel tight. late mike

After reading that article that Corbin said was in the Sport Compact Car magazine I've decided on the Greddy Profec B again. It's the only boost controller that didn't overshoot the boost spec. Even the AVC, which was the 2nd best overshot by a pound. The greddy, from the test, was the most rock solid at holding boost and overboost prevention. Thanks for opinions guys.

Yea, in Manassas. Where you be?

My TurboXS MBC is a great boost controller, but I have seen spike of 16-17psi when running 13psi of boost. However, i can't blame it on the boost controller, i feel as though it's a boost leak.
