35176, cam gear timming / crane tach adapter wire splice
Posted by dsm2g, Nov-28-02 03:27 AM
I have advance 2 on in./ex.
feel alittle diff.
who here has good numbers with cam timming on their car.
I was thinking of putting @ 3 advanced on both or 2 retard on both.
anybody have good experience on cam timming on these settings or any other.
On my crane adap. hook up.
Where do you splice in for the fuel.
I was thinking of splicing in to the green/orange stripe wire.
It looks like all the injectors share this common wire.
But before I attempt, want to make sure of the splice.

Any info on both of these questions will be much appreicated.

For the cam gears, I'm not sure if anyone has dyno'd their boosted car with them. Two to three degrees advance yields good gains--if you are naturally aspirated. Being that you're boosted, I'm not sure advancing timing is a good idea. However, if you have a datalogger or get a chance to tune your car, then it should be easy to see what your timing is under boost.

You mentioned something about splicing into your fuel? What do you mean here. You don't hook any part of the tach adapter to any injector harness. It gets connected to the coil pack and Crane ignition module.
