34947, issues with 1g smic Posted by ner947, Nov-23-02 03:32 AM
yeah, i posted the other day that i was getting it installed, but it turns out that my mechanic who was trying to do the piping couldn't figure it out. he said that the fuse box was in the way...? do i need to raise up the fuse box in order to get the pipes to fit? i've looked around, and haven't been able to find any really good pictures of the intercooler piping. does anyone with the 1g smic (attn. XtreamRS) have any good pictures of how the piping goes from the top of the intercooler to the throttle body specifically the "situation" with the fuse box? thanks, i'm done now.

The pipe goes under the fuse box. There is a plastic cover that you remove there that uncovers a hole. Put the piping through the stock hole for the airbox, then continue down straight under the fuse box. It works :)
Some models do have sheet metal down there rather than a plastic cover though. If that is the case, just cut that stuff out.

Hehe, yeah well it could look a lot better than that, but the dude who did it had a hard time trying to get the bends right..I know if i took it to a exaust "god" somewhere, he could do a miracle on it, and look damn good. But it works...Really, any muffler shop with a bender can do that, just have to find a small shop somewhere that will tinker with it ;)
