Last race of the year, here's the deal, i've got my boost turned up to approx. 13psi (actually, it spikes to around 15-16psi then falls), hopefully nothing will go wrong with ghetto IC, as is the factor every single time I race.

Last month when I got my best time, I managed to get my EGT's well over 900 (925C to be closer), and that was with 12psi. My car's been turned up, but i haven't had an opportunity to rip through the gears since, and i'm hoping with the additional help of the AFC to (enrichen) my future, i'll have the 13psi well within bounds. I know there are a few people out there who run 13psi on 30lb'ers, i just can't remember who. Anyone who wants to offer sage advice can do so, i'm expecting to have fun. This will be my second opportunity at the track with my DR's, my first one resulting in a destroyed IC pipe on my second run :(. I haven't had a chance to datalog to figure out if AFC richening will deter timing advance like i'd originally planned, but i'm going to assume that it will, just from my general knowledge about the situation. If anyone wants to shoot me numbers, it'd be alright. Right now i have very slightly tuned the AFC, -3 at idle to +3 at 3K-redline. I have 2 gallons of VP, just to be on the safe side, and sonikbewm is possibly going to meet me there with a laptop. :) :)

I know this should be in the BS category, but I know you guys better than the general 2GNT public, and i know you're always willing to put up with my novice (with more stuff than usual) bullshit! Wish me luck!!!

Make sure you put that race gas in the tank. Not only will your car run a bit faster, it will help prevent detonation since you will be pushing your limits. I always run a mix of race(105)/pump(94) gas when I go to the track. What size and kind of drag radials are you using? And what 60' times did you get last time at the track with them? I'm just curious, I shopping for some track tires this winter ;)

They're the 205/45?/R14 Nitto NT555R drag radials. They're ok, but even totally lit up with smoke still pouring off the tires, i can't get total traction, they're just not sticky enoguh. I haven't heard many t/c'ed cars that have had good luck with them. I would go with the BFGs, and try to find a 16" wheel from a stock GS or something, the bigger diameter makes it a better suited tire for turbocharged. I think N/A's do great on these, like, Hondas, they can tear it up on those little drag radials...

I have 103 and very, very little 93 left in my tank. Yeah, trust me, 13psi is about the limits of my injectors and the fact that i don't have any timing retard yet.

I got my 1g smic put on in July, i hacked up my HRC piping and used it with 2 1/2" pipe and rubber plumbing couplings. It isn't very sturdy, i think after xmas i'm going to go ahead and upgrade to Stage II (at least get the i/c and piping), so all of my old stuff, including my old injectors (goin up to 450s), will be for sale.

What kind of FMU do you have? with a SFMU, you shouldnt need the SAFC to run 12-13psi on 30lb injectors. i "believe" the 30lb injectors can safely support 13psi, hell, stan ran 10.5 compression and 10psi(sometimes more) on STOCK injectors and never had any problems, and his engine was less built than yours or mine. my friend has just a Vortech FMU with the 8:1 disk, and SAFC, and he runs PIG rich in boost if he runs the SAFC zeroed in the hi-throttle at 12psi. i believe he is leaned to maybe 10% give or take in the hi-throttle, and his EGT's never go above 1450.

Yo, good luck man I hope everything works out for you. My last trip to the track the clutch started to burn up so I guess I know what is next on my to buy list. Well in terms of drag radials I have BF Goodrich G-force T/A's, they are real sticky. I don't think you need to go up to 16" rims. I have 225/50/15 tires and have stuck 2.0 60' times. I realy recomend these tires. Once again good lick and I hope you rip up some V8 guys.

I have the craptech FMU on the 12:1 and would NOT have been able to push anything above 11psi without an AFC. Last time i ran, i was hitting 925C on the EGTs, at 11psi. I richened the AFC up +8%, and my car has NEVER RAN BETTER!!! I was totally amazed, my EGTs were a solid 825C, although I made 3 runs at between 12 and 14psi and didn't even beat my last time, I ran a

14.43 @103.9 2.6 sec 60'
14.75 @105.1 3 sec 60'

It is utter wheelspin, regardless. My pipes held up, although i'm probably gonna go with full one piece piping very soon.

I STILL can't make up my mind on whether to hit the Phantom Grip or go with a full Quaife. I may just save my money and get the full Quaife, and forget the PG. Arrggh, all the choices. Everyone i've talked to in my club calls the PG a worthless piece of shit, but no one here has had any problems!!

I can't wait til the DSM 450's go in!

you are running a 12:1 rise rate on 30lb injectors and STILL running lean?!?! i hope i understood that wrong, cause if i didnt something is wrong with your fuel setup. id spend 300 bucks on the SFMU before you get a Quaife. slicks can do wonders for ya.

I have some sort of wicked faith in that POS, i've talked to Mike the guy at Cartech a bit and i really don't have any problems with it, it flows fuel correctly, exactly as it's supposed to, and it no longer fluctuates. 8psi were the limits of my 190's, and 11psi is pretty much the limit of thsoe 30lb ford injectors.

12:1 rise rate on 30lb injectors would make your fuel pressure through the roof at 12psi... i think that craptech is why you are running so lean, you really shouldnt be man.
