34884, -4AN possible replacement??
Posted by Collente, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
Hey guys,
I know that the fitting on the fuel rail of a 97+ eclipse is a -4AN fitting. Well I am having a hard time finding one where I live. I have checked 3 different places, and all a no. Is there any other measurment that you know that will fit? Possibly a metric of some sort (ie. 3/8, 5/16, 1/40)? The turbo goes in on sat, so all help asap is appreciated.
TIA!
Nick

I get all of those fittings from summit. You can call them up and tell them the exact fitting you need and they will have it.

-4an is 1/4npt, but it won't seal as well. When it comes to sealing a fuel line, I'd wait and make sure you get the right thing, but it's up to you. Summitracing.com or anplumbing.com will both have exactly what you need.

I get my parts from a fluid power (industrial hydraulics) place which sells parker products. Look in the phone book for some such place in your area or get it shipped overnight from summit.

the -4 designation is per 16th. an -8AN would be 1/2 (or 8/16) a -4AN will be 1/4 (4/16). check the thread depth or just go get the right fitting. Personally, I wouldn't use the npt, I'd make sure I got the correct AN fitting especially for fuel in the engine bay. Summit can have it to you by Tues if you order it tomorrow.

*EDIT*
or try some of your local hydraulic stores. I searched for hydraulic in yahoo in springville, ut. There's tons of places near you. Call them up.
