34530, egt gauge with warning light------ no 1600F...wtf Posted by jsupetran, Nov-17-02 01:06 PM
i am searching the internet for an egt with temps maxing out at 1600 and MUST have a warning light and got NONE. all the apexi, hks, greddy with the warning light only go up to 1200F. only autometer has the 1600F but with no warning light. anyone knows any manufacturer that sells egt guages that have temps to 1600F with a warning light. thanks in advance.

Those others are in degrees Celcius dude, not fahrenheit, so they dont need to go above 1200 or you will be blowin shit up ;-)

Autometer PN# 5347 Triple Gauge Warning System
$63.95 from summit Racing
http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=26847 The new TRI-ALERT Triple Gauge Warning System provides adjustable settings for Auto Meter short sweep electric gauges. Just dial in the setting on the control box and the gauge pointer moves to indicate warning levels. Lights or LED's (not included) can be remote mounted to give instant warning.

According to this, you could wire this up to your pillar gauge pod, connect all 3 gauges, set a value to triger a warning light, and the light would go off when it's corresponding gauge exceeded that value.

that is cool, but can the warnign lights come on for a low value?
for example, with the fuel pressure gauge or oil pressure gauge, having a warning come on when the meter starts to fall is gonna be more valuable than a warning if those guages start reading high

That Tri-Alert system from Autometer is pretty cool, except it won't work with a boost gauge or EGT gauge. Both are full sweep gauges, and the Tri-Alert only works with short sweep gauges. :(

Greddy makes an EGT gauge that has peak hold and warning light functions. The set level for the warning light is adjustable too, but it does read in Celcius.

I check with autometer, and this is the response i got:
"Sir,
No, it is only a 'high end extreme' monitor, and there is no way for a 'low'setting to be setup.
Ward Tech/Service"
So that answers that question...
