ok now i was chatting with my local board about this issue, and i was debating on rather to get the hahns turbo racing kit or piece together my own turbo. i know alot of you have gone turbo and was wondering what you guys thought about my idea and what you guys did to go turbo, and also if you guys liked the hahns kit. i was also wondering if i pieced together a turbo what parts do i need. A guy on the forum gave me this check list.

1. Stainless Steel Exhaust Manifold or Cast Manifold (ss better)

2. Turbo - T3/T4 or T-28

3. Tial or Turbonetics 35mm wastegate 7psi spring

4. Defcon can make all the intercooler piping for you

5. Spearco Intercooler
(check your car to see what size will fit and how the end tanks need to be)

6. Blow Off Valve (HKS, Greddy, Blitz)

7. FMU or an AEM EMS (standalone much better)

8. Larger Injectors (not necessary with 12:1 FMU)

9. Fuel Pump (intank with larger injectors, inline with FMU)

10. Downpipe - Defcon can fabricate

11. Oil Feed lines, Vacuum Lines

12. Misc hardware, nuts - bolts

13. Gauges - Boost, Fuel Pressure, EGT

well let me know what you guys think and give me some suggestions.

In my humble opinion, I don't think it's worth the headache of piecing together a kit, UNLESS you know exactly what goes what and where. Anyway, back to your topic, you pretty much got most, if not all, the parts. Good luck to ya!!!!!

If you can afford it, then go with the hahn or starr kits, If you really know what your doing then do a custom kit. The pre-fabed kits are really pretty good.

thanks. i probably wont have the money for the kit until next year. I was just wondering if i get the kit where i could get it installed at? The thing is if a person has an n/t (espescially in toledo) you have to hear the constant n/t bashing. (slow, idiot for buying it, it sucks, a neon with a different name and etc.) i like this forum because it is helpful and the people on here seem knowledgeable. So that why i asked the above question. well thanks for the replies guys.

Just buy a Star Kit, it comes with the T3/T4.

The HRC comes with Super16G turbo and both make a LOT more power than N/A so either one is a good choice.
