i'm almost finished w/ my turbo install and i've purchased a rfl...i was wondering how many washers you need to add per psi..or you could just tell me what psi your running and how many you added to make it tighter....thanks..

right now i don't have any, but i think i might need to add one or 2. i was playing around with a few washers last weekend (put 3 in) and it seemed kinda tight. i'm running about 5-6 psi (depending on how cold it gets out) so hope that gives you an idea.

my buddy with a MK III supra has 5 washers in at 10 psi. he says the more washers the louder.

zero washers, 8-10psi.

if you put more washers in, theres more resistance to the valve opening, it has no effect on volume. in fact, if you add to many, the valve closes to soon (or wont open under moderate conditions)

dont add any unless the valve is leaking under boost.

Ran 12psi daily, 15/20 at the track and never put in any washers. the spring in the RFL is STIFF! my buddy has one also and is only boosting like 7psi, and he had to cut the spring a little to loosen it up so it didnt "gobble", which is bad. dont worry about adding washers unless you hear the thing leaking.

I use 2 and it holds up to 18psi (as far as I've tested it) and it's still loose enough to blow off at 0psi.
