Autometer's website has to be the most confusing on trying to explain what all one must buy when trying to have an EGT gauge setup. Will anyone please explain to me what exactly needs to be purchased?? I understand the Autometer EGT guage from http://www.dsm-performance.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=33_41&products_id=87 says it includes probe and fittings for mounting in exhaust manifold. However on Autometer's site they show the gauge and say "other components needed" or "this and that not included.." However from ExtremeTurbo's deal, Is this everything I will need? Also is this a good price to pay or are they around for cheaper??

The 2 1/16" gauges fit perfectly into the double or triple gauge A-Frame full pillar pods.

The gauge number on www.autometer.com is 4144 under the lunar series of the 2001 catalog. This gauge came with exhaust temperature probe, wiring, and all fittings. It also has various methods of installation.

I also believe that there is a way to just purchase the gauge and not the probe. If this is the case, I am assuming that just the gauge would go for around $70.00. If you buy the $155.00 gauge or around that, you are definitely getting all the necessary hardware (some people like to buy just the gauge and upgrade the probe to a more responsive probe).

The best method is to drill into the exhaust manifold and then pipe tap the hole. A threaded pipe fitting will mount into this hole and then you simply slide the exhaust temperature probe into this fitting and tighten down. The second (bad) method is to drill a hole into the manifold just big enough to put the probe in, use the ceramic washer, and clamp the probe into the hole.

I may have not found the best price but options auto salon had all three gauges that I wanted and the triple pillar pod in stock.

Got my phantom AM pyro from summit, it was just around 150 shipped, if i remeber correctly, i got my fuel pressure and boost at the same time, and that was a while ago.

Options Auto Salon is in California and I live in New Jersey so it took about 5 days to receive my gauges. I ordered them and was notified that they shipped them the next day. I would call them to place the order though as I remember they didn't have one of the gauges listed on the website but they did carry it and it was in stock. I would recommend doing business with them as I will be doing business with them in the future.

Shipping for three gauges and a full 3 gauge pillar pod was $9.00.
They have a 1-800 number (toll free) - can't beat that :).

Also, their phone sales people are curteous and well organized.

New here to 2gnt, but have been on ASOG for a while. Have been reading here for a while though.
I've been researching gauges prices too, as I'm going boost next summer.

The cheapest place I've found is www.egauges.com

The Autometer Phantom pyrometer(same as EGT) is only 126 bucks, and it comes with the needed hose, probe, basically everything U need for its install.

I'm gonna get all my gauges from there.

I know a lot of people recommend using a different probe from the one included with autometer gauges, either from westach or teamrip http://www.teamrip.com/accessories.html. I ordered the teamrip one, but haven't got around to installing it yet.

The TEAMRIP probe is EXCELLENT. It has a quick disconnect so you can move the wire out of the way if you are working on something and is VERY fast and accurate.

I got the Autometer Sportcomp, part #3344 and it seems to be pretty accurate and responsice. I know they have just done some work to the EGT gagues and I guess I got one of the newer ones. Mine moves about as fluently as my tach and seems to be doing pretty good so far. It's listed under Pyrometers on the site....
