Damn last night I got my car out of the body shop drove I arround for a while and then parked it. Then a little while later I went to drive the car again but went to turn it off right away. The car would not turn off and the TT was not on. I lowered the ebrake and still nothing. I turned the key back and forth a couple of times still nothing. So I decided to take the pos off of the battery well the wrench slipped and and hit some metal in the bay. :nono Well sparks went everywhere and the car died. Well then I restarted the car and the TT came on and the car shut off. Does anyone have any idea as to what the problem is. I am going to try to look at all the TT wires today. Thanks for any help.

looks like you have two seperate problems here:

1) the car wouldnt shut off. im going with your suspicion and saying the TT is to blame. unhook it and see if the problem goes away. if it does, trace all the wiring and inspect it for any shorts.

2) the car wont start. im guessing that has somthing to do with you grounding the battery. if you just grounded it to the frame/body somwhere, the battery might be bad. nothing else would have been damaged. did you by any chance ground it to the ECU heatsink? ive done that before and was lucky, maby you werent. advice or next time: ALWAYS unhook the negative battery terminal to cut off the power. it does the same thing as unhooking the positive, buts 100 times safer.

Everything is working fine now, it is like nothing was wrong. The battery is connected to the frame and is new so I think it was just because the neg was loose on the battery.

LOL...sorry, what i meant was that you may have grounded the positive terminal to the frame or ecu or whatever via the wrench, not the negative terminal (wich is already grounded of course). should have made that more clear. glad everythings working though!!!:)

I'm with SPL on this. I think that the car not wanting to shut off has something to do with the turbo timer. Doublecheck the wire around the ignition switch under the steering wheel. Did you hard wire the TT or did you use a harness?

Also, I lucked out on shorting the battery possitive to the ecu's metal heat sinks :D There was a spark alright, and it left a little mark on the heat sink, too. I was tightening the batter down and the wrench slipped (long hand wrench).
