33651, 420 head...neon and eclipse interchangeability... Posted by eclipsekaiser, Oct-31-02 08:01 AM
Just got off the phone with Bob Kise over at Forum Auto Group out in michigan. Awsome guy, and very nice. Will do business with him again.
I order a set PT cruiser rocker arm and lash adjuster upgrade package. as well as an upper gasket set.
Question is, since it is somewhat of a Neon shop, will the upper gasket set be interchangeable with my eclipse RS 420a?
Upper gasket set include: HG, VC gasket, spark plug gaskets, and misc seals.
Please let me know if you have any input or experience in regards to this matter.
they can be reached at http://neons.org/forumdodge/
check it out. thanx

I don't think so. It's been awhile since I've had a Neon apart, but I'm like 80% sure that they are different. Just order a talon gasket set to be sure.

the heads are differents because the flow is different but the headgaskets are the same Both heads are the same from under, and the 420a short block is the same too

So I can use the Neon headgasket, VC gasket...etc during my rebuild right? Alain?
If not looks like I'll be putting them on ebay along with my total seals rings.
thanx.
I think someone who is familar with rebuild and options (ahem Dino :P) should collect all avaliability in a list and submit it for future youngins to learn from...
Just wish those damn rods from Howell didn't take soo long

Yes they are good over there, I just bought a set of Mopar springs for my Neon (95k doesn't treat suspension nicely) from them, they shipped out the same day I ordered, good guys.
They have the parts computer, have them compare gasket numbers from Avenger to Neon and see what matches and what doesn't, if it matched the Avenger it will match us. I actually think the upper gasket set should work from the Neon. There are differences in the head, but I think they were kept to very sublte ones to be able to save cost on production of gaskets and seals.

I have compared the 2.4L head that I have kicking around and my 2.0L head. All gaskets will be the same. The valve covers are interchangable, but the 2.4 is not. I will see if it will work RTVed in place, but my guess is that it will leak. The spark plug wells don't line up, but they are physically the same. -=B-=
