I spray silicone from a spray can all over my turbine housing, the base of my deltagate, manifold, and down pipe about once a month. I have ABSOLUTELY NO rust. It all looks the same as it did the day I put it on. All nice and dark looking. My dad and I use this stuff all over our four wheelers. We spray all the bushings, shocks and everything on those and it does wonders. I usually use either STP or GUNK brand. Like I said, it is just a small can about the size of a can of spray paint and it is silicone. Just thought I'd put this up here so maybe someone will read it and find it helpful.

would this work if the housing is already rusted? im assuming it prevents rust, rather than removing it, correct?

I'd say the best thing to use is white lithium grease. It comes in a spray can as well. It's a very good, long lasting lubricant with great rust prevention properties. It's also good for lubing the internals during a rebuild. Used mostly in garages and boats, this stuff will prevent rust from ever forming. Apply liberally about once a month and let it sit for a while to "soak in" to the metal.

If you want to get rid of existing rust, there are a couple solutions... both cheap. You can rig up an electrolytic rust removal system and disassemble your turbine housing and complete the process (search google for instructions). My preference is to get a can of Permatex Spray-A-Gasket Copper spray. Coat your manifold and turbine housing and drive for a couple hours and it's back to dark grey/brown. Then follow up every month with the lithium grease.

ok doug, i checked out the permatex spray, it doesnt say anywhere on it that it removes rust...did you actually spray this stuff on your turbine and drive around with it to come to the conclusion that it works? and also, does it change the color of the housing or is it clear?

costs about 6 $ a can it doesn't kill rust or remove rust but it stops more from coming,

its best to spray a brand new housing ro a cleaned one, its to prevent rust not remove it...

So is there any way I can remove the rust?

For my Suspension and control arm and etc... they are rust... Also, my 50% of the engine bay is rust. I want to make them NON-Rust. But I can't just take out everything and electroytic them right? What way I can do it?

Is there any spray I used that can just clean out the rust??? Do the sprays you mentioned above hurts the engine's mention??

When you say you spray Once a month, do you just open the hood, and spray right on? or take off parts everytime?
