I ordered the IAT sensor for the DFI on Friday and was wondering if any of the DFI guys are using it?

If anyone is using it how do you like it?

Nope, not yet. I plan to get one though. Heck, I still need to get that O2 sensor for closed loop operation (tuning). How much is the IAT option from HRC?

I have it wired, have the sensor, but haven't mounted it yet....

It was like 35.00 or something like that from HRC.

If you dont use it... you need to go into the DFI with calmap and edit the air temp correction. Without the sensor hooked up, the DFI reads an extreme negative value and enriches fuel 3.9% across the board... I just edited the map not to enrich it any, and it cut some of my over fueling at partial throttle out...

I might buy one and hook it up someday given the time and money... but I dont think its really needed unless your real anal about your tuning... not saying your anal armond, you are in a more opportune spot to tune your engine on a dyno, and your know what your doing... For someone like me, tuning fuel maps, cam gears, plug gap, ignition, egt's, etc... are quite plenty for me being an amature in the sport.

an amature with what? a stage 5 and 100 shot of nos? you're no amature in my eyes :P

Air Temperature Enrichment. I have mine a zero right now too, but I am running a little rough in this colder weather until the engine warms up. Guess I need to get off my ass and put it in.

I also noticed that with the colder temperature, I needed to warm up my car for at least 5-7 minutes before driving, otherwise, the car will jerk really bad (from being too rich). This part sucks.

Until I get the IAT sensor hooked up, what should I correct the DFI to?

I set my IAT to 0 all the way across and I noticed a few sticky spots in the lower rpm. I reset to the stage 4 map and it feels much better (no sticky spots). Is zero the place to set it at?

As for mounting the IAT, did you guys have to drill the intake pipe or intake manifold?

I'm putting mine in the UICP, I think. I may just wait until I'm done racing (one more weekend), and the car gets re-painted (again) and then pull the piping off and have a bung welded in before I get it powdercoated.

Greg, you're repainting the car, again? To what color?

It's being repainted again because the original black base coat that was put on the car (back in April) held in the solvents way too long. When the solvents finally decided to come out, the clear coat was dry so it couldn't flex or breathe and it split. The paint manufacturer paid for the 2nd repaint (same problem) and is paying for the 3rd repaint.
