Someone had mentioned that someone may be making a 2.5" downpipe. Does anyone know anything about this?

Yea, NER was working on it, according to a thread in the "General" section, they just filed bankruptcy!

I'm not sure if NER was doing it too but I think maybe you meant ERT. They are the ones that JasonESI-T was testing for.

As much as I hate to say it, this project is currently on hold, until we can find another test car. We have to make modifications to the current design, and Jason's schedule is rough right now, so he cant come up here (Chicago) to have the mods done. Ive posted before about getting another person to come up and getting the mods done on their car, but no replies. If someone is interested in coming out for the day, let me know so we can get this thing going. I know alot of people are out there waiting for it. Email me if you are interested.

Thanks

If it matters to anyone, you will be getting a free dp for your troubles, but you will also need to complete a task other than just coming out for the modification. Ill let you know more about it if anyone is interested.

Nothing beats a DP like a FREE dp :)

Seriously, all we need is a car for about 4 hours to make the changes outlined in Jason's testing. We'll make it worth your time.

that piece of shit paper gasket does not cut it.

Why? What's wrong with it? Paper should hold up just fine at 1600^F

I was just wondering why a muffler shop can't make a downpipe. The guy that does my exhaust work is a fucking exhaust artist, so I was gonna have him make me a turbo back exhaust using a flex section on the downpipe. I'm assuming this is not a good idea since nobody has mentioned it in this post. What is wrong with that? I just want to know so I can change my plans in advance if I have to.

I had my welding guy make me a 3'' DP with a 3''flex section, and eliminating the cat so a cat-back will fit it if i want... DP was like 189 for materials and labor... took him a good 3 to 4 hrs to make it, might not be all shiny and bling bling.... but its an exhaust for gods sake, that shit gots hot! :-)

BTW, if anyone has any info on thermal coating... like ceramic... hit me up.... i dont know much about it.... my exhaust manifold was coated but that was the previous owner...

A few people on here have made a custom dp including me. I have a custom 2.5" with flex section bolted to a 2.5" hi-flow cat. The advantage of ERT's setup is that it will be off the shelf so anyone can order it and bolt it up immediately. It is also a nice looking piece. Too bad no one can get out there to help them out.

Well thats good news for me. Al I got to do is get the turbo kit.

As for the thermal coating all I know is www.hpcoatings.com They do some kind of thermal color coatings.
