I relocated my Bosch 1:1 fpr this past weekend and now my car hesitates (stutters) pretty bad under boost--especially at 50-60 throttle? Nothing else has changed. The only thing that changed was the position of the fpr. Now, I mounted it at a 45 degree angle (for clearance). Would this make any difference? Before, I had it mounted sitting upright.

Probably. Call the company up and talk to a tech guy. Most companies have a tech guy that can help you out. I know I have called HRC, howell, ARP, ARD, and many other places with questions.

Dino posted once that he thought the FPR had to be at a 90 degree angle. No idea why I just remember reading it.

That's interesting. I wonder if it's the vacuum chamber part of the fpr is affected because the fpr is tilted at an angle? I guess maybe that the fuel takes up some of the vacuum chamber, minimizing the air volume available, thus in effect, causes insufficient fuel pressure?

Can anyone shed some light on this if this is true or not?

I don't know about the mounting position of the fpr, but I do know if you get a 95 fuel rail with the fpr on the end, you don't need the bosch. It steps 1:1 just like the bosch does. :D

I'm considering that route. But, what about boost reference for the aftermarket fpr? So, are you saying on the 95 fuel rail, I won't need to hookup a boost vacuum line?

NO WAY! I dont know why I havent heard that before. Who has tryed this before?

The vaccuum hose to the top of the regulator was probably pinched.

I have been running this setup since February. There are 3 connections - Fuel in, return, and vacuum. That's it!

The hesitation under wot is fixed!! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, Avenger EST! I used a soft, silicone vacuum hose when I relocated the fpr. Somehow it didn't seem to kink, but I went out and bought a 3/16 fuel hose, and that solved the problem!! Those silicone vacuum hoses are worthless. They just look nice.
