32837, help - walbro fuel pump and Howell Posted by NoMoneyGS, Oct-16-02 06:51 AM
I just called howell to order the walbro in-tank pump that I thought I needed from reading old posts. The guy told me that it wouldn't fit my car. He said it was for a gsx. What do I do? Where else can I get it. I was wanting the intank 255L/hr high pressure pump. Anyone know the part # so i can make sure i get the right part?

Hmmm, I'm not sure what in the hell was wrong with the guy you talked to, but there is indeed a walbro 255lph that fits our cars. I have one right now. 2nd, Howell pretty much specializes in stuff for the naturally aspirated eclipses and talons, so why they would only have one for a gsx I don't know. I believe that the dimensions of our stock fuel pump is the same as a GST/X anyway(not sure if they flow the same, though), so the one they have should work anyway.

I actually was the dumbass that he talked to on the phone. I told him we got a new catalog from Walbro, and the 2GNT pump is no longer in the catalog, we had made a phone call to see if it was a mistake, and if it was still availible. They are going to call me back. I ask him to call back on Friday to see if we could still get them.

Well, I the part # for the GSX pump is indeed different than that for the GS/RS/GS-T. However, the FWD pumps are all the same. Whether you could use a GSX walbro in your FWD application, I do not know.
On another note, I AGAIN recommend going with an INLINE fuel pump rather than merely a Walbro. The Walbro is good for about 6 psi of boost, but over that, if you're using stockinjectors, you better have a high performance inline fuel pump working.

I purchased mine from www.mastaminds.com, It was an awsome experience and a pretty damn good price. Came shipped better than expected, installed and it runs great.
