Does anyone know the part numbers for the sandwich adapter and nut for the Oil cooler for our cars. Or is there a kit for our cars. TIA

I just bought a universal oil-cooler at Pep Boys. It came with several fittings for different oil filter threads and lengths. It had a sandwich adapter, so I had to find a shorter oil filter (Purolator PL10193).

yep I got one from carparts.com for 100 bux. B&M supercooler. It's a monster sized oil cooler, it barely fit inside my smiley face bumper. The adapter nut size is ¾-16 wierd it's not a metric size I guess you coudl use a metric size it's really lose but it grabs the filter. I'm also using a shorter filter (thanx to randy) it's a Purolator PureONE filter PL10193. What other brands can you cross reference with this?

the oil cooler idea seems cool to me, i guess i wouldn't have to turbo-time for as long after boosting and have a few other benefits. hades, i went to carparts.com and saw the "import oil cooler" and the heat exchanger is a lot smaller than yours, so i poked around and found the "supercooler", but it says that it's only for a v8...? which one do i get?

doh you have a talon bumper hmm maybe it'll fit hehe. Like I said it barely fits in my bumper. I bouht the kit for the mustang 4.6 liter, like I said the sandwich adapter worx but the nut doesn't fit so you'll have to go and buy one yourself. I know a local speed shop though that carries them if you'd like me to buy one for you and send it to you I can do that, those things are pretty hard to find. Thought I heard there is a B&M kit that comes with mulitple adapter nuts I'm thinking it might be that one with the kit number 70271 but if it doesn't don't blame me I'm not sure. Here's a good idea, if you know a local speedshop that might have the kit in stock bring an oil filter there and see if the sandwich adapter lines up and the nut screws into the filter. Good think about this kit is that the core is like indestructable, if you front mounted this thing and rally raced with that sucka it would hold up. hehe But it is a bit too big for the bumper, but it fits perfectly in my sinsei bumper :)

Also you can make your own oil cooler kit. You can buy a core, any core or go to the junkyard and get an oil cooler from like a diesal truck and put barbed fitting on it then run oil lines to the a sandwich adapter that you can buy at a speedshop, then us the adapter nut to screw it in. THere ya go custom oil cooler (well they're all custom).

I think perma cool or some other company sells oil cooler kits for our cars, EclipseKaiser was the one that test fitted it. It is specifically designed for our cars. try to do a search and you'll find out more. They do sell a universal kit.

Also remember all that HOT oil coming out of your turbo can't be good for you engine or the turbo. It only makes sense to cool it down. Remember oil is not only a lubricant it's like a 2nd coolant for your engine, keep the oil cool keep your engine alive :)

Wasn't there a guy on here that had oil cooler kits for our cars custom made and was selling them for like $100-125. If you do a search in I think anouncements you should find it. Someone on this board had the prototype installed if your out there tell us who it was. I think it was a guy named wes from permacool, Am I right on this one?

that's what I"m talking about they, that Wes guy was the permacool guy but they used EclipseKaiser's car as a prototype.
