31834, What is going on with the Start kit? Posted by jcurcillo, Sep-26-02 12:00 AM
I just heard that the star kit will be changing. My boy chad ordered a Star kit a few weeks ago. He said that he talked to Wyatt and he will be getting a tubular manifold, different intercooler, and larger IC pipes. Anyone have pictures?

I wonder if he is going to be using NER's manifold.
Wyatt + NER were the ones that came out with this damn NER kit initially. Anyone remember?

Actually, it was Shaun and I first, then we got Wyatt into it. I am the one who talked to Myles Bautista from RevHard and set up everything to have a custom tubular manifold built. That very first manifold sat on my broken car for a long ass time. Shaun never would get his shit together, so I kinda just dropped out of it. BTW, I bought a Star kit from him 2 years ago and never got it. He's owed me $900 bucks for the last year, and never got that either. *shrug*

If someone owed me $900 you better belive I would be takin a road trip and gettin that money. With the amount of people that have been jacked around, you would think people would stop dealing with them. Oh well, I have yet to be taken advantage of, but I usually deal with larger shops ie. Options Auto Salon, HRC, and AMS (local DSM tuning shop).

well this is what i know from the deal...i have been waiting since june, thats right almost four months now, to get my entire setup..Wyatt has been really cool with me the whole time and i guess hes having a problem with the distributer of the star kits and he hasn't been able to get any new manifolds...thats all good but my car is still slow...well i talked to him the last two days and it looks like i may be one of the first guys w/ a new RacePrep Engineering (TURBOGS.COM) turbo kit...bigger intercooler, rerouted piping, t3/t4 ball bearing turbo, 550 cc inj's, a fuel/ignition computer that is setup to run the 550's and offer timing retard all in one(comes w/ a 2.5bar map sensor), and a tubular exhaust manifold..i guess i will kind of be a geniea pig w/ this but i probably won't use his fuel setup, maybe just the timing retard part of it...i have an eic setup already to go so thats what i'll be using for fuel delivery...so i'm setup to have one bad a$$ system when its all said and done...build bottom end, this kit, eic setup, 3" exhaust all the way back..its going to haul some butt...if he can keep this setup at a reasonable price this may put him at the front of turbo kits available for our car...we'll have to wait and see if the fuel computer available with it is reliable...i don't want to be the first one to find out, i'll stick w/ the 8 inj setup...the one bad thing is that in order to tune this fuel computer thing wyatt told me that an additional piece is needed....since i only plan on doing the ignition part of it i'll be sending mine back into him once i get dyno'd and see where the knock starts and when it needs to be pulled...i'm looking forward to it though...just look at the size of that intercooler...real nice....
