3182, Fuel Injectors Question Posted by JasonESi_T, Mar-27-01 05:58 AM
I know this has been adressed before, but I wanted a little clarification myself.
What injectors from other cars can we use on our cars?
For instance, do our fuel rails accept Ford injectors, GM injectors? Is there a standard out there?
I know Chris (Murix) used some injectors off a big domestic. Obviously, this is the way to go cost-wise. I could get 8 injectors in many cases for much less than it would cost me to get four from an aftermarket import thief....errr..retailer.
I undersand the differences in Peak and Hold and Saturated and that's fine, but if anyone could specify a more narrow or specific type of injecor we currently use so that I can pilfer off the cheap domestic fuel rails, I would really appreciate it.

Im pretty certain that all domestic injectors are the same, however there might be a couple of o-ring sizes so you have to watch out for that. As for using the Domestic injectors i believe you can use the BOSCH universal injectors which are sold through http://www.vortechsupercharger.com for about $35 a piece !!!!
BTW: most domestic injectors are rated by (lbs/hr) an easy way to convert this to cc/min is multiply (lbs/hr)x(10.5)=(cc/min)

I have come up with a list of cars that may be suitable though: I haven't checked it out personally:
Corvertte LT series, LS series Dodge Viper Camaros Firebirds
I was also thinking would injectors from a truck work? Like Dodge Dakota? Or Ford FXXX ???

My injectors are Bosch. They are not actually the factory injecotrs, but aftermarket ones put in there. Most factory injectors will actually still be too small. Most domestics make less hp/liter than we do so they have pretty small injectors. Look for something using Bosch then see how they size up.
