Anybody with external WG, how or what type of vac line do you use to stop it from melting? I have the WG hooked to my turbo, not to my intake. The line keeps melting and doesn't stay on the nipples very well even with hose clamps. I've used cheap vac line, fuel line, and fuel line with heater hose on the outside (worked the best so far). Help me out, I need to know kinda quick though so I can drive home.

probably too late, but here goes.

I only use good silicone hose. RRE and RS Akimoto both make some really good stuff. I believe it is 4mm internal size. I also use two zip ties on each connection to ensure it stays. One for holding and one in case the other breaks.

This stuff will not melt or deform. You have to keep it off the exhaust side of the turbo or it will not last long. Use zip ties to do so.

If you do not have this and it is an emergency, use 4mm(or something that fits snuggly) Gates water hose. It has inner woven threads into the rubber to ensure it holds up. You will have to use those tiny hose clamps to hold this on, because it will not compress with only a zip tie.

BTW: roadraceengineering.com sells a driveway silicone kit that will do your car for not much money. I have done all my vacuum lines in this and have never had a problem with leaks or kinks in the lines. I even used it on my boost gauge.
