Can you pull the engine out of the top of the car(and if so what trick is there to getting the tranny off the motor e.t.c.).Or do you have to drop the motor out the bottom with the tranny??? Any input would help THX.

You can pull it from the top whether the tranny is on or not. I don't have any tricks for you because I pulled the whole thing. After trying to seperate the tranny from the block I realize I would have got real frustrated taking the tranny off whil the motor was still in. Now that I know how everything hooks up I think I can do it but not that first time. Anyway if you do it like me all you need to do is loosen the axle nut while the car is on the ground. Then get the car on jackstands and drain the tranny oil. Then take the caliper off and the strut fork/sway bar end link. Then take the anchor bolts out and pull the upper control arm out. Now pull the axles. Then hook up the cherry picker and unbolt the motor mounts. Then pull it!! Of course this is after you undo the whole wiring harness, heater hoses, and shift linkages (5 speed)
