31071, HRC tune help in CT...
Posted by Jasvb TS2K2, Sep-13-02 07:52 AM
My car has had some major issues lately but today I felt a power loss. Almost like fuel cuts off at 4K. Also since my boost gauge is broken and I have to wait a month till the replacement comes I have no idea what I'm running. At times she feels strong others not. The clutch problem I have also doesn't help me to determine if it's all related or something else. If anyone around here in CT, Mass, Rhode Island has a HRC stage 2+ and can help me tune it and help diagnose what could be wrong I'll drive to where you want and we can talk from there. Let me know. Later.

Or if you know of a shop that can help, that's fine also.

I live 15 min. from UCONN in Mansfield. But I can drive anywhere in the state or around Lower Mass or RI to get it to run right.

I know I have problems with the clutch. But don't know to what degree. I will have a shop take a look at it but not till they have time which falls on Wed. Sep 25. I'm afraid that when it was in the hands of someone else some more damage could have been done. I get boost, but with out my gauge I can't tell how much. I get fuel cuts often between 3-4k rrm. When in gear it's very hard to build boost. Sometime none at all. Sometimes it comes in very early like 2k. The hose I have from the valve breather is in my opinion letting out to much oil. I can smell it alot when I get on it. At 3k rpms in 5th 70-100 mph its fine but only then and not at other times. If you got any ideas, let me know. If we can meet, even better. Thanx. Later.

That's funny, I've been driving past Mansfield a lot times this past two weeks. I've been going up to UCONN. I maybe going up to UCONN again this Friday, but it will be very late at night. Probably get there after 1 in the monrning. It's kind of a haul for you to come down to Danbury just to have me look at it. Gotta go 44W then 384W then 84W all the way to exit 8. I wished you'll call me sooner like last Friday. You left your car at TDM for Scott to do. He's a good guy, but I highly doubt they know that much about the 420A, which is why I did a lot of reading, asking and doing it on my own. Rebuild was done a month after the engine blew. It just took long cuz I had to wait for all the parts to come in. Actual rebuild took like 3 days. Engine just gets very hot on long drives, and I need to get the HRC dp welded to stock dp, I'm shooting CEL 51 aka p0171 which is lean fuel mixture. O2 sensor is shooting it and giving me really bad gas mileage and A/F mixture. I used JB welded, which lasted like 2 days and it made the CEL disappeared and the car ran awesome. Monkey balls up the ass. I've been getting these phone call on my cell today that pops up as unavailable on my caller ID, if that's you just leave a message.

Hey. Just wanted to touch base with you. I haven't been able to call. Last minute overtime and I can't get out of it. Also the way my car has been acting I don't know if I'd be safe taking that long drive. I will be at the last CCDSM meeting this Sat around 8 p.m more than likely at TDM. I will admit to you. I have many issues with them. Yeah it's true that they have little experience with the 420A but they did take the job and the money and they should be able to help me out. Unfortunately the good they did has been to me tarnished by the bad experiences I've had. Not all attributed to them but some I know for sure. My friend Greg is going to help me with some general things, he has a 97 GSX. I'd really like to get your input on the system and tuning. Hopefully when the clutch problem is resolved I can get your help. It would be nice to see you at TDM Sat. night. Again thanks for offering your help. I'll let you know if I really have something I can't figure out. Later,

That kinds of make me mad that you got all these so called "import shops" or top of line shops that will easily work on a POS civic or mustang yet you give a simple ass turbo system to install in a simple engine and you get the cold shoulder. You know what fuck em all. Even when they do it, they mess it up. I should open up my own shop to tailor the 420A strictly. If you need help, my cell number is up top. I can possibly take a drive up there sometimes. And link up with J and help him out too. We needs to stick together.

Hey V, I agree with you 100%. Amazing to say the least how what you say is true. And to some extent you understand why so many POS are around. But I'd rather hear from a shop, " We can't ", than for them to take the money, bring outside help, and do some wrong shit or cut corners, or you indirectly pay for R&D. All to make a couple of dollars. That there is worst to me. :nono So, yeah we should stick together. If you decide and can help him install his kit I'll go along for the experience to help myself and someone else down the line. Cause getting taken advantage of and being left alone, just isn't right...I can see us with a few others on this board...A true CT chapter of 2GNT's should be born...

Honestly I was really considering starting a 2gnt chapter in Connecticut, or New England/Tri State area. Problem is I just see too many other misguided 2gnters who just arent open and rater get ass raped by other car clubs and cars.
