31014, Oil Feed Line is PISSING ME OFF! Posted by ourformerselves, Sep-12-02 12:55 PM
Everything is done and installed on my turbo kit.. but I had to take off my first oil feed line because it was cracked on the turbo end of it.. and now I can't get my new one to screw on the adapter on the back of the block. Putting the first one on was pretty easy, but after hours of trying I wasn't getting anywhere. Any tips?
Thanks, Richard (97 ESi) http://www.ourformerselves.com/

Dude I know how you feel. It took me like 15 min of trying, and to make it worse by the time I did get it on all my teflon paste was wasted on my hands.
Just keep trying, you will get it.

Take off the intake pipe or IC pipe that runs to the TB. Take off the battery and you can get to it from the top of the car. I tried to get mine on way back when and made the dumb ass mistake and tried to do it from the bottom, bad idea.

I dunno, I got mine from the bottom. Just ease it on nice and slow, and be patient. As far as tightening it, we used a wrench (can't remember what size) with me on the bottom and my friend squeezed his arm from the top (where the battery was before we removed it). Good luck, make sure that bitch is on there tight!!!!

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like it would be harder to put it on from the top. Maybe if the car was on the ground it might be easier to reach down there.. but I'll give it a shot tomorrow.

I know how you feel too. I actually stripped the fitting on the oil sender trying to thread the oil feed line on. I went to the local shop and bought another one that had a 45 degree bend on it. It was much easier to thread the oil line on with the new fitting.
