Nothing. You will get hesitations and other bad stuff everytime you build boost. Unless you have a freak--which has happen--will run w/ no FCD. I haven't got one yet, but everybody seems to like the synapses one. If you need to drive the car, just watch you boost gauge and don't build boost.

I have a 97 w/ Star kit. I ate about 3 FCD's so far and Wyatt sent me this last one that seems to be working OK, but I'm looking to spend about 50 bux soon on the synapses FCD, MAP tricker-thinger.

I have a 98, obd2, and i got fuel cut when boosting without a fuel cut defenser. I have no clue as to how some of you guys can do without it, but hey, whatever works :) By far, the best thing to get is the Synapse engineering Missing Link. This mounts on the map sensor, and is a check valve to keep the map from seeing boosted pressure. It works excellent, and much more reliable than electronic ones.
