Ok here is the tuning update using the 315cc injectors with the SFMU. Datalogged all the tuning. First thing, the car pulls damn good now, MUCH better than with the stock injectors. The car just runs so much smoother, and goes into boost much better. Before with the stockers, i could be cruising in 4th, and just give it a bit of gas, and the car really wouldnt get much power, i had to either go into boost a bit, or downshift. Now it pulls very well, and at 1 or 2 psi, i can really feel the difference in the way it runs. Before, 1 or 2 psi didnt really do much of anything..

Accel 315cc injectors
SFMU using 2.72" disk/ring/ also using optional bleed valve to bleed
off just a bit of boosted pressure. The 2.4" disk was a *hair* to
lean...
Idle pressure @17hg's of vacum is around 26-28 psi. At this idle, short term fuel trim was around -5 to -10. Long term at idle was -25.
Static fuel pressure is around 38 psi. Under normal driving conditions, no WOT pulls, just part throttle and part throttle boost, short term fuel trim was between +5 and -8. Long term fuel trim was between -17 to -25 percent. Cruising the higway in 5th gear @ 80 mph, short term was from +3 to -12, sometimes spiked to -16 or so with varying throttle.

O2 sensor voltages: *NOTE: Boost was set for 10 psi, came down to around 9 psi in a few gears.

2nd gear: .96
3rd gear: .94
4th gear: .92
5th gear: .90

EGT's:

@ 80 mph in 5th, downshifting into 4th going WOT never went past
1525 degrees
when shifting from that 4th to 5th at WOT, 110-120 mph, didnt see it climb from 1550 degrees, at .90 on o2 voltages.

The car is fast now, must get back to the track. During my tuning session, an older SAAb 900 tubo wanted some...he got it :)

To sum it up, the injectors made one hell of a difference. Even when i kept the boost at my previous 8 psi. With that tuning, and 10 psi, she is flyin now...

:/

whats your fp @ wot?

at 9lbs of boost, i ran so disgustingly fat its not funny.

my o2s are up above 1v, on the wideband o2 sensor @ the dyno, i was off the chart, like down ~9:1. egts are obviously fine since im dumping so much fuel

im running the 315s, sfmu w/ the 2.72" disc, idle fp ~25psi, static around ~38-40psi, and wot psi limited to ~62psi

i need a datalogger, but the wideband confirms my a/f readings

oh yea, s16g here

wonder if the auto makes that big of a difference on the tuning side of things :/

I'm not positive, i really didnt pay attention too much to that, was too busy looking at the laptop in the passenger seat..hehe..i did a quick glance though and it looked like at 10 psi, fuel pressure was around 75 psi. An auto will make a difference in tuning. the auto will keep a more constant, and just plain more of a load on the engine, which will effect your tuning. More load= more need for fuel. It shows on my o2 sensor readings. In low gears, there is less load on the motor, so the car runs richer. In higher gears, more load, so car runs leaner. The fuel pressure stayed the same. Ary you using the bleed valve to bleed off any boosted pressure? I have it turned out about 1 to 1.5 turns i believe.. Also, i may buy a new o2 sensor, as this one has gone through all hell, and who knows, it may be giving false readings, but its doubtful, cause the car is running very strong. The only thing that concerns me, its prob nothing, but I get a backfire through the exaust when shifting from 2nd to 3rd sometimes. Its not a huge backfire, but a good little pop. That usually means too rich. 2nd gear o2's were at .96, which isnt way rich, but its a tad rich. Maybe my gutted cat has something to do with it? It just makes me wonder if my o2 is gettin old...Just to be safe, i'll get a new one, and re-datalog it...

:/

u say the auto will result in more load, and more load means more fuel, but if your fp is @ 75psi, your getting more fuel than i am, and i run way fatter. my wot psi is ~62psi.

i dont have the bleed option, but i have the boost screw turned out to limit fp to 62psi

i wonder if my fp gauge is fawked up...need to send it to autometer anyways, its part of that recall they issued...
