damn good numbers..what boost pressure were you at?

30690, RE: 302fwHP & 293ft/lbs torque Posted by DarkOne, Sep-08-02 10:44 AM
i had it set to 15psi, but it was steady at 17psi that run.
..and yet again, i forget my damned datalogger. I need an ignition so bad it's not funny, and my cat loaded up something fierce. The run before that one, it backfired out the back when it hit the revlimit and blew carbon and cat pieces out ;-) That sucker gets taken out next weekend.

Nice numbers Dino. One day I might get there. If I ever get this turbo in it'll be a start. :thumbsup

Let me get this strait. You Dynoed over 300hp with your stock cat, no ignition/boost retard, and pump gas? Tell us more.

Who said anything about a stock cat? It's a 2.5" high flow made by CatCo. The stock cat was gone long before the turbo ever showed up..
It has no ignition to use for timing retard. if i'd had my datalogger, i could give numbers as to exactly what the ECU did to my timing advance, but we left the shop in a hurry to go to the dyno and i left that, my drink and my friggin bag of corn nuts all sitting on the counter :-/
I'm sure my nice, shiny, ARD-ported cylinder head helped. ;-)

Wow. You aren't kidding you need an ignition. That is some major fluctuation around 5500rpm. I was going to turn my boost up a little, but not after seeing that. I am seeing 12psi max. I'm not going to go any higher without an ignition.

I like how the dyno chart STARTS at ~130 hp, which is where the car would have TOPPED OUT was when it was stock. That whole dyno chart is built power. Kinda like having a speedo that starts at 60mph instead of 0. Anyways, rambling, congrats dino, looks great! :thumbsup

Nice job, Dino! Those numbers are really impressive, especially for the mods that you have done. Keep us posted on your tuning;)
