For all you guys wit rebuilt engines, did you guys have to go to the shop to get your cylinders honed? Because I bought this honer at Sears that you hook up to a drill and I was wondering if this will work. Because I cant afford to put my block in the shop right now.

How much did it cost you to get honed. I need a price range on how much it will cost.

dude, just hone it yourself, it takes all of like 5 min. You just want to get the "glaze" off of the cyl. walls, and of course any ridge that was left by the pistons.

yes its safe to do yourself, your just brushing the walls, not cutting them or anything,,just dont stay in one place for too long.
(btw your not boring out the cylinders? are you just putting stock size pistons in)?
