ok i am still running stock injectors for now about 9psi. (HRC)
ummm with the vac. line unhooked i am seeing around 42psi. with the vac. line connected its around 35psi. @ idel..
i am using the largest disk with the kit and have tried both springs and this is the highest i could get it set..
i think stock is about 47-52 psi. ? corrected??

That is the exact same problem I had........

You have to call Vortech and order the "Dark" or "Hard" spring.
It is like 6 bucks.
Then put in the second to smallest disc .........2.72 I think..
I can get plenty of static (idle) press. now.
I idle at over 55 now......way too much but I don't feel like messing with it, I am just going to wait and put in my 440's and then tune it.

what color/size spring do you got in the s-fmu? it should be the short dark spring.. also use the 3.62"disk 1st just to be on the safe side for now.. set your static to about 55psi and go from there... if the 3.62"disk is giving to much fuel at 9psi try lowering your static, and if that does not work try the 2.72"disk and ring with the dark colored spring...

Yeah...if you're running a full 9 psi on HRC, I recommend the 3.62" disk and bleed valve. The 2.72" disk works best for 6 psi boost. If you don't have the small, dark colored, stiff spring, then you will have to order it. The bleed valve can also be ordered. I think that you have to put the HRC check valve onto the Vortech bleed valve to keep it from leaking vacuum at idle. And feel free to play with the idle pressure some. The ECU can compensate for alot at idle.

well to be honest i got this kit from a guy on ebay it was new and came with 3 disk and 2 springs looks like there was some info on the bags that the disk came in,, but it was worn off..so not real sure which one is which
1 large ,1 not as large and a ring,1 kinda small disk and ring and 2 sliver springs.

Just measure the disks across. Find the one w/ a dimeter of 3.62 inches.

2 silver springs only?.. it looks like you need to call vortex and order the dark short colored spring...

Vortech sells the new S-FMU with only 2 springs now. One of them is the hard spring and according to the guy I talked to it isn't dark, just stiffer. I had a hard time getting mine because they didn't want to sell me something I already had, but mine came with 3 springs. 2 short ones and a long one and they were all the same stiffness. (bought it from a stang owner who never used it for 190)

Yeah...there is alot of confusion about what comes/came with the S-FMU. Not every Vortech salesperson know the deal. They are often very hard to deal with. Here is a pic of the THIN, LIGHT COLORED springs:

If you only have these springs, then you need to order the short, stiff spring. It used to be dark colored. I suppose they may have changed its color now. Its a mess.

yup, the dark spring works wonders for increasing the static presure..

the 27.00 bleed valve is pretty much the same one in the HRC suppled fpr. in fact with the correct fitting you could use the one off of it./
