30261, Turbo Water Lines Help Posted by tacoman123, Aug-31-02 12:37 PM
I am just wondering, I have a K03 turbo (no comments please :-) )..
I need to know where the water lines are, as there are 5 in/outlets...
I know how it would be hooked up if it was with oil, but not with water...
What else do I need? This turbo isn't hooked up into the cooling system, like somewhere in the radiator or water pump is it?
Here are some pictures...

Hope that helps.
Thanks In Advance

There are water lines you can tap into right in front of the block. 420aVenger did that.

Check performance section posted by 420avenger titled weekend project. He got a nice pics on how he did it.

Speaks levels of someone who thinks Z3 fenders makes their car fast and non-ricey, no offense. You're supposed to answer the question, not give a dumbass comment. :rolleyes

Dumb-ass questions deserve dumb-ass answers.
How you going to put a turbo kit together if you can't tell coolent from oil lines?
P.S. Z-3 fender and C.F. hood are a weight reduction.

It's water lines, and anyways, don't answer if you can't say anything good..
Hey, atleast I'm attempting to do this, and not being a slow ass "Show car", please say something, if you have something REAL to say, and not a dumb ass comment. Thank You.
Anyways, there are 5 in/outlets, why is there that extra one?
Where's that guy with the Turbo VW Golf :-) ..
Thanks
P.S. Z3 fenders = more scoops = more drag, I never talked about your CF hood.

Coolant lines are water lines are the same thing....For this I will have to agree with babybeclipse that you need to know what you are talking about before you start trying to trash somebody.

He is attempting a kit also. I can bet you anything he will be finished before you too. He is a pretty smart guy.
Z3 fenders go with the wind actually. The dont "scoop" air in.
Looking for the water lines and not the coolant lines huh.

Thanks guys,
Tacoman123- Why don't you take people's advice? We told you to get rid of that turbo a while ago.
For your information-
-My car was painted and had 90% of the listed parts already on the car when I purchased it.
-I have alway been a performance guy since 7th grade.
-I've been reading/learning how engines work since then. I have disassembled and assembled small engines since 8th grade.
-I bought this car because figured I would be able to dedicate my effort on the engine instead of the body.
-Recently helped Micheal_97rs remove a 420a out of an Eclipse in Peoria IL.
I think I have a little more experiance and know how than you do.
Just because you don't like the advice we give you doesn't mean you have to act like a kid and start name calling and assuming people are rice boys.
P.S. Respect the two stars :P

I am not trying to offend you in any way, and I know there are a whole lot of people smarter than me..
I just asked a question :-)
Thanks

watch me make an answer and a question in the same reply: :thumbsup
check it out this is what you need to do to successfully complete your project with this turbo. find out what car that turbo came on from the factory if you dont already. then go get a manual for that car and also get a manual for your 2gnt.(what ever its called...hayes or something? is there a better publisher of auto manuals? i need to pick up a couple myself) After successfully acquiring those two simple books, you will easily be able to tell exactly what any inlets/outlet/fitting/line is for on both your turbo and underneath your hood. good luck, now can anybody please tell me where i can pick up a good manual for my 96 rs and for a 1g turbo eclipse (im going with a 14b on my car). tia.

The best guess is the plugs in the middle are either water or oil. Getting the manual for the car that came off (VW) is definitely the best answer. It should give you more info on all the outlets for the turbo.
As for attaching it, you can use the water lines from a 1G eclipse and tap it into the hose running in front of the block and over the manifold. That is the easiest place to connect it. This works for all HRC turbos for anyone else who wants to do it.

I agree with baby eclipse. you are just wasting yrou time and will end up with a poorly fabricated, ugly turbosystem that hasn't been proven. but if you must, the hole with the freeze plug probably needs to staye plugged, then the other 2 are going to be water lines. the oil lines are really easy to pick out. Z3 fenders don't increase drag. I think as a common rule, anybody that waste the time to try to re-invent the wheel here should expect to grow a thick skin and expect to get ripped on, because making a custom turbo kit is the "supposed" CHEAP way out, and it ALWAYS shows. it's not like the current turbosystems available for the eclipse are expensive. They are some of the most affordible turbo systems on the market. try buyign a turbosystem for an IS300 or an M3. THOSE cars are worth thinking shit out for yourself (when people start charging 20K for a 20G turbosystem.....THAT'S when you need to go custom).
