30209, Gauge questions Posted by HeDog, Aug-30-02 11:15 AM
Ok, I'm finally starting to get my crap together & I've got a few questions with gauges.
1. I'm going to be buying Boost, EGT, A/F, Oil pressure, & Oil Temp gauges & I was wondering if I can use all Autometer brand for these. Obviously I want functioniality, but I also want the look for show.
2. When I was checking out the boost gauges, there are a couple of different types "electric vacuum/boost & mechanical vacuum/boost. What are the differences between the 2 and which one should I get when using a Hahn setup (if it even matters).
Thanks guys.

I hate to respond with a guess but I would say to get the mech vac/boost. There should be wires to light the gauge but nothing other than that. You just run vac line to it and to a vac line at the intake. That's mech. type to me. I run Autometer phantom series boost,EGT, and water temp. Oil pressure would be a decent idea but I'd swap fuel pressure for the oil temp. Just my 0.02.

Thanks for the props. Seems like we like the solid colors on our cars, I like yours in the fact that you can have your rims match the car without having it look like you've got too much silver, Very clean also.
Hey, have you had any problems with your stage 1 kit at all. Also, how long did it take you to install it & what other engine performance mods have you done. Thanks Ryan.
