hate to admit it but thats what I orgionally wanted to do w/ my car to be origional before I even knew they made turbo kits for our cars. I got quoted a lot of $ on just the manifold alone and Im not sure how they got both turbo's to spool extra but its origional. Might be slower but its kinda kool I think. -Dave

What is the use in that system? The whole idea of twin turbo is no lag. You use one small turbo and one large turbo. Those are both T25 turbos. It is setup all wrong. The boost is going to kick in like mad all at once.

not really. It would actually work quite well. I do not see where that is for a 420A though. It is for a 4G63. You can tell by looking at it. It would make power somewhere near a 20G. The extra piping will be slightly complicated. Interesting anyway.

That setup may work, but why? The purpose of 2 turbos is so they kick in stages. That may work as good as a singal 20G at best, and it takes up twice the space. Useless. That is why he is selling it. And yes, I think it is for the 4G63.

Isn't that called sequential turbo?
A twin turbo setup is just that, twin turbos. The same.

No. The RX7 twin turbo and the Supra twin turbo are made like this. They use one small turbo that spools at low rpm then one large turbo that spools at high rpms. For example the MKIV Supra uses a Turbine Size of 60mm on one turbo and 48mm on the other. The Compressor Size is 62mm on one and 39mm on the other. If you want mad flow just buy a large turbo don't use duel same size turbos.

Here is a great example of the diference of having the turbos spool at the same time as apposed to in sequence. http://www.suprastore.com/phillon54rwn.html

rx7s and supras use sequential setups, like Porsche does on many applications.
a twin turbo car would be a 3000gt, where both turbos are equally sized and spool @ the same time.
the link you just gave shows the difference b/t running the supra stock sequential setup vs the supra with a typical twin turbo setup up

most twin turbo cars are twin turbo because they have two cyliner banks i.e. V6. The only factory twin turbo cars with one cyl bank are the supra and RX-7 (if you can call a rotary that) and they both happen to be sequential.

I remember way back in the days Juan got ride in a GS that had a sequential turbo setup. But this was way way back...

DVSJAY- Your talking about the Apexi drag civic. Your right it used two turbos. Why? Because they are trying to market their turbo kit. You can't get into the 8's with a turbo designed for the street. How do you solve that problem. Use two turbos from the kit!

30090, RE: uh oh eclipses have twin turbos now! Posted by DVSJAY, Aug-30-02 09:04 PM
Yeah that's the one,
I know hondas have a lot of room to that but where in the blue hell can a eclipse do it, i mean the turbos woul have to be like in front of the radiator or under car, the piping would be a bitch even with that kit on ebay piping would be a bitch.
no thanks turbonitcs t3/t4 is for me even if it is only one Jay

If it was a sequential set-up then It might be interesting.
But, this set-up is crap and not worth the effort.
Tocoman123- Go read a book on boost :rolleyes

lol. seen fucktard? haf! and for the record, nobody wants to see anyone get flamed. most of us are tired of seeing it, b/c it leads to..... well, flaming.
|
30096, RE: uh oh eclipses have twin turbos now! Posted by MuRiX, Sep-02-02 03:43 AM
No need to pick up flaming again.
Twin turbos WILL work and have already been done on a 4G63 1G Eclipse by Doug Derby. The issue at hand was not if it would work or not, but is it worth the effort, which the answer to is no, unless you would like to be eccentric. There is too much extra complication involved that is not necessary as a single turbo setup would provide the same results for a lot less.

30097, RE: uh oh eclipses have twin turbos now! Posted by 9D9 MITSU RS, Sep-02-02 07:15 AM
just in case- I meant the fucktard was the guy who was selling this setup, not the guy who was encouraging flaming. I woulda probably just said, get off tacoman's back and let it go. Name calling is gay on forums.
