Ok my friends is pushing 22 psi at the moment and keeps running his mouth. I know at the moment he would kill me, but Im talking to the bank about getting a loan so what do I need to replace or add or build up to run 30 psi? I have the star stage 2 at the moment. Please help me out here guys, need to know how much I am going to have to take out of the bank and I need to know what I need to get. Thanks for the help

1.howell rebuild kit (or replacment built block)
2.machine work on block (but not if you got howell's block)
3.more fuel (either of the following setups, not including all other parts to make either one flow enough fuel)
a. bigger injectors, safc
b. 8 injectors, eic
4.an ignition retard system
5.a cm4 clutch
6.a new front axle
7.drag slicks

Hahn Stage 5 turbo kit + tons of other shit and constant headaches, and that will only get you about 28psi, I have yet to see 30psi, but I'm not trying too hard right now... you'd probably need the 25g to see a good solid 30psi.

He has a star kit. The compressor maps show good effeciency till 26psi. You might be able to hit 30 psi, but it might not generate more power and will increase the intake temps. This will most likely yield lower performance numbers.

I think 25 psi is a good number to shoot for. You better get a loan for 6K. There are no fuel piggy backs that can support that kind of boost and do it even fair. I say check into an engine management system for fuel and ignition. I am actually checking into Simple Design Systems at the moment.

You will also have preignition problems associated with high boost. You will have to run race gas and retard a bunch of timing. The dyno numbers shown from people boosting more than 20psi have not been that impressive with multiple piggy back systems. Engine management is the only way to do it right. IMHO

If I had an empty pocketbook, I would buy a new Tec3 system.

You should consider getting a limited slip, upgraded axles and doing a cryo treatment on your transmission.

You might also want to get a larger turbo exhaust housing to help on the big end. This way you can take advantage of the ported and built head that is a good idea to safely rev past 8K rpm.

Also make sure you get a 3 inch mandrel back(no cat) back from the star downpipe. 3.5 inch would be even better if you got a larger diameter downpipe. Port the heck out of the exhaust manifold since you are having your head done.

This is what I would do if I really wanted to boost 30 psi.

you would need a more powerfull car than mine, and a deeper pocket than mine.

why don't you kick back for a while, save some money instead of taking out an immediate loan, and hope afx comes out w/ it's prototype aluminum block by december(est $2400). then you can be talking 3L. boost that to 22lbs and we're talking modded-supra power.

well, if that block does increase displacement up to 3liters, and it is prepaired well enough to run 22 psi (equally matched turbocharger, good fuel system, good set of cams, etc, etc, etc) it very well should make as much power as an equally equiped supra. Supra's are amazing cars, and they are well built from the factory, and have proven to be able to make large ammounts of hp, but when you break it down. it's just another 3 liter car that was done right. no majic, no tricks, no mojo. now, getting a fwd 3 liter to get traction and no brake axles is another story all in itself......it ain't gonna happen on the street.
