29364, Changed the plugs, did compression test, results inside... Posted by brynden29, Aug-19-02 05:39 AM
Well boys, I finally did a compression test after boosting for about 3 or 4 months now. Here are the results... 165/160/150/180 I put a cap full of oil in the number 3 cylinder and did the test again. 175
I am a little stumped and concerned. Any suggestions?

No one is going to help me out here?

I don't think those numbers are all that bad for 8.6:1 compression. If you're worried, do a leak-down test on #3. Are you getting any blowby? Using oil? How do the plugs look?

No blow by, I just changed the oil and I am not losing any (I have a slight oil leak from my oil return line, no biggie though). When I replaced the plugs they were a light grey color. What does a leak down test involve? Can I do it myself?

It would probably be easiest to take it somewhere for the leakdown test. You need the leakdown tester and a compressor.
