2933, Welding with for the HRC kit??
Posted by Jeff_99gs, Mar-21-01 04:23 AM
I was under the impression that there was no welding needed for the HRC stage 1. Whats with the downpipe? Is there welding required?

Thanks

Yes Jeff, No welding required.

Sorry I if you thought my email description of the DP fabrication required a weld. In fact, this isn't absolutely necessary. It comes with a pipe clamp. I in fact did weld, because my seal there wasn't perfect. I'm kind of a stickler for these things, so I paid a muffler shop like $20 to weld it shut. Not a big deal. The HRC converter fits over the top of the remaining stock DP after you cut it.

Ok, thanks guys.

I have the resources for welding, I was just hoping that it wasn't needed :)

So I take it once the system is in, it can't be taken out again and have the car driveable with the dp being cut up?
I think I can live with that.
