What is involved with installing the EGT, A/F , and the boost gauge? I assume the boost gauge would be the easiest. I am not going to instal the kit my self (I would be lost) but I was just curious?

Actually Dave, I think the A/F gauge is the easiest one out of the three. My write up for that is in the mods section. :-)

I guess with the egt gauge I wont be needing the A/F gauge correct me if I am wrong. I hear that there are electronic egt's. Are they reliable? They prollly are easier to install right? And with a stage one the egt gauge and the boost gauge should be enough right???

I dont haven't installed an EGT yet but I'd have to agree the A/F was a bit easier to install than the boost gauge. All EGTs are electric. I would have installed an EGT but then I'd have butchered a header and have to do it again when I get the turbo. I'd say get all three, I really like the A/F gauge and it wont take but a milisecond to tell you if your running lean at full throttle. I'm not sure how long it takes between the time an EGT probe takes to heat past dangerous levels to the time its displayed but it cant be as immediate as an A/F gauge.

Yep Stan, all three are important. I use all three to tune. I think the EGT is a safety tool more than anything while the A/F meter is liek a performance tuning item. It's hard to describe.


I use the A/F meter to tune off of and get optimum performance, but the EGT tells me that I can go no further as far as leaning if you know what I mean.

EGT is more like "oh shit" gauge. A/F is more for fine tuning while you are watching your EGT. so I would start watching my A/F gauge and see if I can lean the A/F more, but if you lean it too far that's when the EGT tells you "oh shit you have gone too far."

you will need both of them.
