28519, Still need help w/ this F'n o2!

Ok, I'm getting NO love from HRC tech. I called them yesterday and Len said he had no clue as to what was wrong. He said he would call Accel for me and see what they said. That was Wednesday and I never herd back from him. I called back today (Thursday) and he said that he never got a hold of them on Wednesday and would try again today. Well he never called me. No biggy I will try and call Accel myself.

So,

Today I put a mutimeter to it and got some weird readings.

A wire to 12v switched -- 12+ volts on the multi
B wire to negative terminal on battery for ground -- no need to multi
C wire to pin C5 on DFI -- 12+ volts on multi (???????)

Why is my 02 sending 12-14v to the DFI. when you put a multimeter to the stock 02 wire it only sends like .10-1.0v to the ecu which is correct because to the best of my knowledge 02's usually send low volts to the computer.

So, w/ the calmap on the laptop I read .81 on the a/f reading and it doesn't move one bit, not at idle nor WOT.

I have made the configurations to the DFI for close-loop and done about everything I can do.

I think something is wrong w/ the 02 itself, only it’s a new o2?

Any ideas???

Or is their anyway to test my o2 to see if it is good.

Thanks
Brian

Problem solved!

The wires where backwards on the three pin harness. Stupid POS!

Ok, now I have a new question. Why is the max voltage I see .81? It goes down to 0.0v and everywhere in-between just no higher than .81v. It should be reading higher because the data logger will be reading .98v and the DFI is only reading .81v (im talking a/f readings)

I set the DFI to closed loop and I am running the HRC stage 4 map at the moment.

Is the o2 supposed to cycle back and forth at idle and cruising?

Thanks
Brian

I cant answer your questions on the DFI, but the a/f voltage is supposed to fluxuate back and fourth at both idle and cruising.

Yes on a stock ECU it does. The DFI makes things a little different. :-)

Nope, the DFI is the same. It should bounce just like stock. What screen are you looking at the o2 reading in? The base fm? Only other thing I can think of is hooking it up wrong may have hurt the sensor, or it's not getting hot enough. Where is it mounted?

Yep, base fuel map and in view mode. It works but never goes higher than .81v. I have it mounted 1/2" lower than the first stock one and on the opposite side.

As for above I was talking about in open loop on the DFI. I have seen you say before yours was cycling. That’s the whole reason I put the o2 on. I am tired of sitting at lights and getting a .94v idle and foiling plugs.

So, now I have the o2 on and it still idles at .94v as if nothing was changed only I get a reading of the 02 now.

Thanks
Brian

I bet the o2 is cooked. Have Hahn send you another one. Wouldn't be the first time I've seen a new part be bad.

brian,
this DFI
can you control fuel delivery based on rpm, throttle position and boost?
thanks does it have 3d fuel maps basically can you control freaking everything? you have it set up like HRC right? using the Stock ECU to control the fans and crap.
thanks

>Brian,

yep.

>does it have 3d fuel maps

Yep, everything except spark. I am using the Crane Digital CD for that. You can view in 3d or "graph mode" but it is in black and white on the Gen 6 box. Wait for HRC to get the maps writen for the Gen 7. It is windows based and is WAY better.

>you have it set up like HRC right?

Yep, I'm still running the HRC stage 4 map. It is a fairly decent map it just needs a little ironing out on my car. Every car is different so some need more tuning than others would w/ the same map.

And yes the stock ECU just controles all of your little electric stuff it plays no roll in the fuel delivery. W/ the DFI and the 625cc injectors fuel is no longer and issue thats for sure. I was running 1.04v on 20psi and 110. The issue becomes too much fuel, that is why I am hooking up the o2 for the box so I don't have to run in open loop all the time.

So, you can write your own fuel maps and all that good headache causing stuff. You can aslo get the power control mod for it and make adjustments to your idle and WOT fuel w/ out having to hook up your laptop. Just simply turn it richer or leaner.

So far I am happy w/ it. I would like it better if I could see color (it is a DOS program) I would also like to controle the spark w/ the DFI and not the Crane. HRC is supposed to have the gen 7 unit out sometime and it will do all of these things. I am already saving. :-)

i've got 440's, and i am finding the limitations of a FPR and an AFC, I was thinking of getting a greddy emanage and using it to control rpm x throttle position, and then double piggybacking that to an afc running rpm x boost control. so most of my fuel map will be in the emanage, and when boost or other fine tuning is needed i'll use the afc. but if the accel dfi does all that might as well get it instead. how hard is it to install, can i use it with the 440's and a Sfmu, or do i have to use the 1:1 reg and larger injectors?
thanks

The maps that come w/ the DFI from HRC are written for the 625-725cc injectors. You could write a map for the 440cc that you have w/ no trouble.

And yes you have to run a 1:1 FPR, at least w/ the stage 4-5 set-ups

I am definitely interested in seeing what this e-manage can do. I know Murix has it and was in the process of getting it all worked out. I think the gen 7 DFI is just as good if not better than the AEM unit.

If you sent 12v to the signal wire on accident, the o2 is gone. Bye Bye, see yea :-) Same way with gauge signal wires like 02, and others, I have crossed wires and burnt up perfectly good gauges that way..
