28427, Exhaust Pressure Posted by tacoman123, Aug-07-02 10:20 AM
Would 2 of the exhaust lines be as powerful as all 4? Considering that when the 4 comes together, some of the pressure might get cancelled?
Do you think 1 (one) of the exhaust lines maybe as powerful as all four (maybe not), but what about 2 exhaust lines?

more exhaust gas = more pressure = more boost = more smiles.

Seriously, could I run the turbo off of one of the exhuast lines, because this turbo spools at around 1750 rpm..
Thanks

i'm dead serious. but why would you want to? I don't know if there'd be enough pressure period out of one cylinder to spin a turbine. Not only that you'd have a varying backpressure out of the other 3 that wouldn't match the turbo'd cylinder, which would cause your car to run like shit.

Because I was thinking of running a TT setup (no stupid comments and jokes about that please :-) )..
I was thinking of having this very very small turbo run off one cylinder, and have the big turbo run off the rest (the 3)..
Would this even work?
Do you think it would be better to have it "equal" and have 2 lines go to each turbo?
Thanks

No. That idea is just :rolleyes
Maybe if your name was SickLife TT you could do it but....

Did anyone really did the TT setup?
Is there someone really by the name SickLife TT? :-)
Thanks

This setup seems pretty easy IMO, sure it would cost more than a Single Turbo, but it would produce alot of boost in the sequential setup.

Yes he's an ASOG member he owns 2 Avenger, and one of them is a V-6 with an experimental twin-turbo setup that should be completed before the end of the summer
My friend Marc and I made the manifolds of his car

this could cause a serious unbalance on your engine also remember that with only one cylinder you will only have 1 pulse of 500 CC every 2 rpm, the small turbo could spool at much higher level
>Which turbo spools between 4000-6000 rpm?

So how should I split the lines?
Have 2 lines goto turbo1 and the other 2 lines goto turbo2?
Which cylinders should be together (ie 1 and 2 or 1 and 3), because you gotta think about firing order don't ya?
Thanks
