28196, very rough idle?? Posted by 96venger, Aug-04-02 04:07 PM
My car has been idling really rough lately. Not sure why but it seems to be worse after driving for a little while, after it gets hot it will idle really weird like it is missing or something but when I first start it idles ok. What could it be?
Also I still here piston slap after it warms up is this normal?

That is what my car does now.....one cyl at 60 compression. I would do a comp test.

Hah, mine's doing it too. Sounds like shit sometimes when I have to leave it with the turbo timer running. kind of embarassing to leave it. I have a terrible valve cover leak and sometimes i think it has to do with the fact i'm cleaning my center plug wells every week. Other than that, fuel pressure richness could be a culprit for me with no AFC. But like you said, it's only sometimes. Today it died twice as I creeped along past an accident. Then again, it could do with that huge ass exhaust leak that I can't get to the damn lower bolt.
