For a long time, since the Crane ignition module was installed, I could feel the car "jerking" during low throttle acceleration; which could possibly be a "rich" fuel system. However, I asked my brother-in-law about this "jerking" and he thinks it's probably an ignition issue, not fuel, because only an ignition problem will cause that "jerk," whereas, if it's a fuel issue, it would be a slow, "sluggish" feeling.

After driving around in 95 degree heat today, for 30 minutes, I noticed that my car feels like it's going to cut off. It idled very rough, vacuum was only at 12-13 in Hg, and my CEL flashed on/off. But then when I drove the car, the CEL stopped flashing, but the car still feels like it was misfiring, as if I was running on 2-3 cylinders.

I got home and hooked up an OBD II diagnostic code scanner, and it read 300, 301, 302:

300-Random/Multiple cylinder misfire
301-Cylinder 1 misfire
302-Cylinder 2 misfire

Also, I noticed that the ignition module felt very hot to the touch. My Crane is mounted right where the OEM air intake pipe used to be. I wonder if the heat from the turbo and exhaust manifold had affected the ignition?

Regardless, I think I'm going to move it to inside the car somewhere to keep it away from the extreme heat under the hood. Plus, I'm using the two tach adapters, instead of the recommended "cased" tach adapter, which costs about $250.

Has anyone experienced this problem, or is it just mine? Sorry for the long post.

just check and trace all the wires you connected again. it sounds like a problem in between the igition amp to the coil. so recheck your harness there's probably a loose/burnt wire in there. or spliced the wrong wire. it has to be one of the 3 wires going to the harness in the coil.

have you pulled you plugs yet? check that out dude.. also check your spark plug wires (resistence) etc.. like said before check all wires to make sure they are ok...i had the ignition etc mounted in bay before for a week then i took it out, and moved it inside the car because it was super hot when i touch it...also check your compression that will cause a misfire if its no good ...

I'm going to find a way to move the ignition module to inside of the car tomorrow night. I'm hoping it's just a bad connection or something like that. Also, I'll check the spark plugs and wires, too. Thanks for some ideas, guys.
