I got a set of Nology wires from a buddy who had them on his DOHC Neon. I checked the part # and they were the same for the 2g's. I bought them for 20 bux b/c I had fried a wire and needed a set w/o waiting on the parts store to get them in. I'm getting a funny miss after I put a new set of NGK's in (1 step colder) and gapped them to .035. The car runs great if I get into it but, regular driving gives a hesitation in first and second gears. It also has the same slight miss when the car is warm and idling. I know this is an ignition problem just from the feel and sound. I checked around and can see no bare wire and everything is secured on each end. I can hear the snapping noises of arcing though when it sits at idle. I just wonder if any Nology guys have had this problem or what.

where do you have your ground straps grounded to?

I wire wheeled under the coil pack and made sure that the bolt holes were showing bare metal. If I wasn't getting a good ground, wouldn't it kinda miss all the time? Also We've been having high heat(100+), would this make that much of a difference? I can't imagine how though.

Make sure you have a solid connection to the spark plugs and coil pack. If it does not lock/click in, you might need to slightly crimp the connection through the boot. Basically take a pliers and squeeze around the boot until it is crimped down only slightly. My wire connections were getting a bit loose after coming off/on my plugs every 3K miles(changing plugs). No problem since. If a wire is broken internally it will cause this also. It basically arcs inside the silicone jacket and this is not good. I suggest putting your old wires on your car to see if the problem goes away. If so, you might need to just buy a new set.

okay, you have the ground straps grounded below the coil pack screws right. now tell me. what is grounding your valve cover to the engine? it is completely isolated from the rest of the engine by rubber gaskets. do this. run an 8 gauge monster cable from the threaded hole on the drivers side of valve cover to the negative battery teminal or another good CHASSIS ground. if you do this and it is still missing then it is not the ground that is the issue and could be bad wires or something else in the ignition system.

Well, I changed a few things. regapped plugs to .032 and used the ground on intake for all the wires. I think the problen was that I had a little oil on the top of one of plugs and decided to clean out the tubes with some carb cleaner. Btwn all that, something did the trick b/c she runs great again. Thanks for all the help. Now can anybody tell me how they get the vac hose from the wastegate to the turbo to stop melting to sh*t?

for the vac line don't get the plastic/type hoses, if you're using the ones with the pretty colors that you get at a rice store don't use them by high heat areas.they will melt! buy the rubber hose type and cut the hoses long enough that it doesn't touch any of the metal surfaces.

Well, my problem is back but not as bad this time. I can tell that it misses only when the ignition is under load. When I drive in like 3rd gear and push the gas to the floor, I get hesitation. I don't think that this is a FCD problem b/c it happens BEFORE boost. It sure feels like one though.
As for the Vac line, I'm using fuel line w/ a piece of heater hose over it and two worm clamps. It gets kinda mushy and makes me a little nervous. I've been replacing the hose about every 3 months for the past year and half.

buy a RS Akimoto silicone hose kit or a 2GNT kit from RRE. Good silicone hose(not cheap autozone crap) will resist heat from anywhere on your motor except the exhaust manifold, hotside of turbo and downpipe. I have my silicone hose routed along the bottom of my upper radiator hose, then the boost controller is mounted on the top of the radiator then the hose goes to the cold side of the turbo.

I am not a big fan of nology wires, because of their reputation of having intermittent problems. Some people have good luck with them and some do not.
