I tried my local NAPA and Autozones, and they don't have shit......I lookin' for a 180 or 160. I checked Howells site and did not see it on either of their sites(new and old).

well since we are discussing it here too:
I know nothing about cooling so what do the thermostats with diff degree ratings do for you? Does that mean they wont show hot till that temp or what? Why would you want a lower one?

The thermostat is a spring loaded valve basically that opens and closes based on temperature. It lets water flow from the radiator to the engine when the temp reaches a certain temp to assure that the engine gets to and stays at operating temperature. Getting a 160 degree thermostat means that the valve will open at a lower temp which results in a cooler engine. The only thing is though, you need to make sure that you dont buy a thermostat that is rated at a lower temperature than the operating temperature of your engine or the engine won't run properly.

Strauss - You can get the 160 degree thermostat from howell. I got mine from there and it works good. I will be surprised though if it fixes your problem though if your stat is opening when it is supposed to now. It will open earlier for sure and may delay the overheating a little longer, but it wont affect the cooling ability of your radiator. If you haven't checked to see if your thermostat is working properly, just take your thermostat out of the housing and dip it into a pot of water as you heat it on the stove. Put a thermometer in the water as well and see what temp the stat opens at. If it doesn't open at all, then thats definately your problem. You probably already knew this, but for those of you who didn't... there you go :thumbsup
