Can someone please clear up what a stage 5 is?? I understand 1 and 2 but what comes next???

Stage 5 is basically a stage 4, with an addition of a Super 20G turbo; stage four consists of an Accel DFI fuel management system, 625cc injectors, aftermarket ignition, Greddy Type S BOV, aftermarket clutch, and of course, a boost controller for those 20-25 psi runs on race gas for that day at the strip.

Fly, being a vetran of the "rebuild" how hard was it? How long did it take? And in your own opinion, could the average joe(with some mechanical knowlege) do it himself(given he has a month to do it?)

Given time, and general mechanical and electronic background, you can do everything but the machine shop work on the block and crank, unless you have a machine shop, haha

He said it. You must have a pro do the machine work. As fare as the rebuild gose. It is just a matter of putting it all together with the propper specs. Follow the shop manual, not the chiltons, I'm talking the god book. I helped out on Kon's rebuild and did my rebuild as well. The long part is getting all of the parts preped. Get all of your seals and gaskets, belts, pistons, rods, bearings, everything you are going to replace first. If you do this you can put the engine back together in a day. I did mine in 24 hours. I even took time to sleep, so it was more like 16 hours. Keep in mind you will need alot of tools, an engine rack, and some way to pull the engine. Good luck.

That's right, Dan Weaver, JP Long, and Jay Curcillo did most of the rebuild. I pretty much was just there to assist with certain things. Like Jay said, you could have the engine completely rebuilt in a little over a day. Heck, Jay did it in one day!

Ohh yeah, I forgot to add that it kinda depends on what tools you have... My family members all have exclusive selections of tools for me to use(diesel mechanics) as well as my own... An air compressor and plenty of air tools and extensions will make the process so much faster, and you wont get so damn scraped and bruised..
