i just installed my egt gauge a couple days ago, and it has been working fine, until tonite...when i step on the gas, the gauge reads properly, but as soon as i release the pedal the gauge just goes up and down like crazy; until i press the gas again, where it then proceeds to work like usual. i soldered all the connections. any ideas?

You might wanna check to see if the wire in the probe didn't melt. The one that goes from the probe to the sender. I've heard that they melt if they touch the EGR pipe or something.

i checked the wire and sure enough, it melted. i taped up the wire and rerouted it and everything works good. thanx. ;)

My autometer tach does that. It bounces around until you press the gass then it works fine. I tell people it bounces with the music, ha. :P
