ok as im searching mcmaster.com for screws and shit i came across an idea that ive never seen done, and cant see any problems with...
i saw the section for clear PVC tubing (the kind used for transfer of fluids). well the tubing comes in all varieties of diameters we need (2", 2.25", 3", etc) and it has temperature tolerance of 165 degrees fahrenheit (i think our compressor to intercooler pipe temps would be below this temperature), and to top it off they are cheap as hell. i think its possible and it would be cool as shit to have clear pipes...anbd if i remember correctly, all those times ive seen these types of tubing used (like in restaurants for soft drink pipes, for aquarium piping, and others) the tubing is able to bend slightly without pinching...so are there any other things im not considering that would keep this from working? are the temps below 165? the pipe handle pressure up to 20 psi, which im not running yet. i could also hack my HRC and stock intake piping and use couplers to compensate for the few extremem bends we have in our piping (like at the intercooler in/out and at the compressor outlet). so let me know what you guys think...ill need about 10 feet...thats $40, its worth a try for $40.

sounds cool, but what happens when you get higher in the stages when you need to actually weld the pipes to keep em on

well i cant go to a higher stage without a new intercooler, so when i get my spearco i will get it from sean with his NER piping...so thats not a problem, but im stage one for at least another year i think

I don't see anything wrong with that at all.... some of these guys are using rubber hoses for IC piping and its holding up to the heat, I am sure that pvc will too. The only problems you might find are making the flange/connector for the BOV, but im sure you can come up with something.

damnit, why must there always be a problem! the bov flange. i guess i could hack out the section of the HRC pipe with teh flange on it and put it inline with the pvc pipe. yeaaah

use thick plastic that is heat resistent for the BOV flange. The shit exists and has a name, just epoxy it on there.

yeah depending on how thick the plastic is i may do that, just epoxy and drill the flange onto the plastic to kepp it a little nicer looking.

i don't know if this is true or not and not sure if in fact the talk was about PVC, but I heard that with enough heat it starts to "fall apart" chemachly(sp???) speaking and you get some nasty chemichals in your system, that is why "someone" don't use some "kinds" of materials.

again if it was true or even PVC, i don't remember.

the air that goes trough there will make that shit blacker than black. And from the heat that stuff will probably turn a nasty brown/yellowish snot color. I would put it on for a show but nothing else. late mike

Pretty sure the chloride in Poly Vinyl Chloride separates and combines with something. Thats sucked into the engine doing who knows what. I know it gets over 165F in the engine bay of a turbo car. I could easily break 160F on my air filter temp gauge at idle in the summer. That PVC may get really weak and blow out. Or you might suck some into the engine at idle (vacuum of 8 psi!).
