well i ordered my bell fpr today and learned something while on the phone with corky.

i thought the bell fpr was capable of being a stand-alone regulator and raise fuel pressure also. according to corky, the rising rate regulator needs to be used in conjunction with either the stock regulator or an aftermarket adjustable one. since i want to run a lower baseline pressure, i had to buy an aftermarket regulator. so i'll be able to turn the base pressure down to 35psi or so and then the rising rate regulator adjusts the pressure according to boost.

cost of the base-pressure adjustable regulator: $125. cost of the rising-rate regulator: $199. i also got a cylindrical fuel filter for $75 for a total of $399 +S&H and i didn't even order my walbro yet! then of course i'll need a bunch of s/s braided hose and fittings to run new feed and return lines. UUGH

Went over to the Vortec sight and found that the SuperFMU adjust both static fuel pressure and the boost/fuel ratio (although I think adjusting the ratio is an as easy procedure as it could be). Its about $300. I think Hahn uses a Cartech that does the same thing (might stand corrected on the brand). Tell you the truth I haven't decided whether to use 310cc injectors (or the largest the PCM can manage) and suitable fixed boost/regulator (I'm not looking to run high boost I just want to run lower fuel pressures the cheapest way possible) or just wait and buy the whole damn set up like you.

cartech is the company that sells the bell regulators. that's where i ordered mine from.

i was originally going to get the vortech super fmu but then i found out that the bell regulator's rise-rate is infinately adjustable. the vortech rise-rate is changed by getting a kit that has different springs and stuff. you only have like 5 choices for rise-rates ranging from 1.25:1 up to like 12:1 or something like that.

the bell regulator is adjustable without changing parts. you just turn the screw. i figured that it would let me get a more fine-tuned fuel pressure curve if i could just turn the screw a little at a time until it's almost perfect. then use the s-afc to finish it up.

yeah, Vortech has 2 available. One that you can set base fuel pressure and flly adjustable rising rate FP and the other that is a set ratio, 12:1 6:1 etc etc
I think he was talking about the Vortech S-FMU which does everything for about $290.
I can get you one for cheaper if you are interested

with the vortec SFMU, I'm unsure of how I can adjust the fuel pressure rise ratio??? Don't you take it apart and interchange the spring and disk for the ratio you want?
