27023, pics of t-25 set up Posted by RxR_Eclipse, Jul-21-02 11:33 AM
Sorry no downpipe yet...It will be on tuesday.

And here is a picture of my wastegate actuator...see how I cut it in half and added the "nut" in the center to leagthen it. The way this is in the picture is NOT how I have the turbo pointed now...this is from when I first got the acutaor modded just to show peeps.

Please do not make fun of me for being poor and not able to buy a kit. Thanks Kevin

Nive work Kevin Keep us informed of your progress
I can see that you rotated the stupid compressor housing I supposed that you had to tap 2 new holes to hold the wastegate activator

Yea Alain I did, that cost like 12 dollars. Thanks for all the props guys, now I need suggestions on it. I know I will get an intercooler, but I am thinking that I don't like those soft radiator hoses, gonna have me some mandril bent piping made. (that is a while off, I need an intercooler first). Any suggestions would be gladly taken! And I mean on anything, if you see it in the pics, and dont like it or have a better way, please let me know!
O I am holding 85 lbs of fuel at WOT at 5 PSI, should I lower or raise my fuel pressure? It sits at 45 at idle.

At 5psi, for now I would definately not worry about the radiator hose elbows, unless you can do it the same time you make the downpipe. I'd just get a cheap sidemount for now, or weld a few cores together and make a decent fmic. So far, so good. Looks great. There is no better setup than a custom one.

You're definitely safe enough at 85 psi of fuel, since that's "about" the same range as specified by HRC for the s16g, a much bigger turbo.
Off the cuff, I would probably say you could lower the FP a tad, but I would definitely have a EGT and an a/f meter handy before doing so. Try and stay at about .93-.95. I think that's a safe, but power-plenty a/f range.
By the way, great job on the setup. I can see your DP is going to look VERY similar to the HRC DP. There's good news and bad news to that. First, it's gonna be a MAJOR PITA having one fitted with that bend right over the A-C compressor lines, and next to the oil dipstick. The The good news is however, that ERT is making a DP that would most likely fit your setup, should the DP mate to your turbine. If you weld a plate over the O2 outlet on the turbine, just as HRC has done over the S16g turbo, it looks to be a perfect fit. (a 2" standard 3-bolt flange)
p.s. Get a protective sleeve for your upper radiator hose! It's gonna get warm over there! :-)

Yea I don't really know how they will weld it up, the guy said "we will make it work". I think they will bend one pipe and cut it into small peices to make the proper setup. Just a guess, I will see on tuesday afternoon.

Very nice set up. I am going to send my manifold back to Alain this week some time to get it modified to fit my T25. Where did you get a wastegate actuator to hold only 5psi? Let me know I want one. Keep us informed.

I made that accuator! :)Look at the bottom of my first post and you will see a 'Nut' in the middle of the accuator arm. I cut it in half`threaded it, and the just leagthened it by like 1/4 inch! :)

that looks damn good dude, all you need to do now is find a cheap i/c and some 310 cc injectors and make that bastard scream with more boost, i had a t25 on my gst, i loved it but it would hold 12 pounds of boost to red line, so ten or so on a 420a will be sweet, plus spool up around 2k, well good work, later

Yeah. The T25 should work well with low boost. Should spool up quick. I have a T3 on my setup and it starts to spool around 2500. Get full boost a little over 3000. Push that little turbo to it's potential. I plan on pushing this T3 as fare as I can. Looks great. I love to see all of these custom setups. We have to inovative people on this board. Keep up the good work. If you need pipes you can get just about any size or bend from JCWhitney.

I'm still wondering guys, with a custom setup with a t-25 or 14b how high can you boost without the bottem end, I would hope atleast 10 with the 14b
