26907, which oil sensor socket to use??? Posted by RxR_Eclipse, Jul-20-02 08:17 AM
do i tap the one on the drivers side or the one on the passenger side? I read up on the "oil pressure gauge" install and he says to use the one on the driverside! But I went to NAPA and bought a oil sensor socket and there is NO way that it would fit on the one on the drivers side. After reading about you guys's installs you just bought the sensor socket! What up, which one?

There's only one and its on the drivers side. The sensor to the right of it (which happens to fit the same socket size) is the knock sensor. I jusr used 1 1/6" deep socket and regular size socket wrench (about a foot long) and have no trouble with clearance or room getting it out. Just reach up there over the axle and go to town.

I have one I can send you if you want it. I don't know how expensive they are so it might help if you want to reuse it.

Mine broke during my install too. I just rigged it and left it broken. Didn't get a new one until I took the turbo off.

1599 at napa! I did do the gheto thing and use JB WELD to fix it just to plug the hole to see if the turbo was getting the oil ok. Thanks guys Matt I will just buy one here, thanks for the offer though ~ if you lived near North Idaho, I would have had you come over to help, I'm a bit of a novice at this turbo thing.
