I was thinking, do you guys think that HRC would sell the kit minus the turbo, I was wanting to install with a 14b, which I think should hook right up to the manifold they provide, what do you guys think, another problem might be the DP though, it was just a thought.

hmm why would u want a 14b turbo? they should sell it separate maybe..call and ask.. but why a 14b? the super 16g is a nice turbo..

my thoughts exactly... why the 14b?? the 16g that comes with the kit is a kick ass turbo and does spool up pretty fast.. i would rather have the slightly slower spool up with way more potential. imo

I don't think a 14b would bolt up to an HRC exhaust mani.

From what i have heard they should bolt up, but it would be a really good cheap start, then in the future I could either upgrade it to something bigger once I really get into it and have the money, just a thought.

well dude, i would just save the couple $100 and get the complete kit with the super 16g turbo.. why try the 14b and..what do ya no..it does not fit.. plus the super 16g can get you over 350+hp =)

I don't think the super series turbos will bolt up to the manifold because they use a turbonetics style flange instead of a standard tdo5H flange. stepping down to a 14B is kinda silly imho. Why not just call HRC and order a little smaller exhaust housing if you are worried about spoolup?

Problem with the mitsu on the eclipse was the way the eclispe hood is shaped, less flat than my Avenger but now with a bigger slope on the manifold this is not a problem
The real problem was the stupid T-25 from the GST

I never tried the manifold with a HRC version of the 16g turbo yet
If they use the Garrett T3 style flange like the Star it will fit
If they use the real mitsu flange like the one of the 14B it will fit too since the manifold could be fit with either of those flanges
If it's a different flange I would just need someone to send me a the HRC turbogasket to make the jig for a new flange

after seeing your picture and a few cars in person, I can tell you for a "fact" that the flange on the hrc 2gnt manifold is different than the 1g dsm flange. just call hrc and ask fo ran 8 or 7cm housing instead of the super 10cm. I am sure they can help you out. you are going to have to spend money somewhere when you modify a car.

Buying a turbo kit without the turbo is one of the dumbest I have heard yet. That is what I would call a turboless kit. The entire kit is designed around the turbo that it comes with. You will have more trouble buying a turboless kit than you would buying a turbo kit.

If you do not want to use one of the vendors turbos, do not bother using the rest of their parts either. Piece it together yourself. IF you do not know how to do that, buy the full kit and try not to lowball people thinking you are getting away with something.

sorry if I didn't make sense with this, it was just a thought, I think I'm gonna end up either buyin a kit or puttin one together, I just like the 14b I think its a good turbo, I know the s16g is awesome, I have riddin in a car with it and it was the shit, but I would like to try the 14b since it hasn't been done that much, and I wanna see what I can pull out of the car with it, thanks for the input.

you can pull about 250 wheel hp out of it from what I understand (I could be wrong). you can pull 350 from the 16. If you do something, just go ahead and do it right the first time. Don't low ball.
